If you want to build a great company, permit your team to disagree with you and listen to their feedback because it’s not about you; it’s all about providing the best service and products that make a difference in the lives of the people you are entrusted to serve.

Like many others, my heart sank today for our kids, teachers, & staff, the first responders, and parents as a nightmare seemed to be unraveling. Tonight, we are thanking God it was a hoax while asking Him to turn this world around. #learnbps

Nothing better than hands-on learning! Last week our Bismarck team had a booth at the Kirkwood Mall 'Discover Engineering' event.

It is my sincere hope that BPS board members are taking the time to talk to staff who have worked directly for the superintendent finalists and analyzing the data of how many educators have left education or transferred out of the buildings they’ve led. #learnbps

Me: Girls, guess what?! One of my students rang me up at Scheels tonight! Laila: Let me guess, it was one of your favorites. Brittyn: Yeah mom, you say that about all of them. (They were both right!)

Dress up days. A million themed dress up days at school. But the kids can’t wear costumes on Halloween. Please remember to reflect on family budgets, consistency, sensory issues, kids’ desire to fit in, and common sense while planning.

I’ll never forget that time (or smell) when there was a dead mouse rotting in my first grade classroom ceiling and I was basically told to shut up and that the smell would eventually go away. It did - after about a month and a half, if you’re curious.

I also remember how I was told to be careful how I word things when I quoted what was said when I was told, “There is a crawl space, but I don’t feel like going up there.”
The snow chant works every time, kids!
“It’s so nice that I don’t feel depressed that it’s already June 22,” and other things I say to myself while I’m enjoying myself at work ... during the summer!

Did you see this @DougBurgum & @KirstenBaesler? How bad does it need to get in ND before the leaders realize there is a problem?
What an incredible honor for Michelle Strand! Disappointing to see that West Fargo Public Schools has denied her unpaid leave. ndunited.co/3Q6kQfo

Teach your students to advocate for themselves. Encourage them to always speak out and speak up for themselves and others. Remind them of their rights to BE and to be in the know. They deserve to be fully aware of their power.

Ummm . . . Why did not one single person warn me that I’d be a complete basketcase watching my first batch of third graders graduate high school? 😭 #proudteacher

May I present to you … one of the most supportive parents ever!

💔 Every single teacher I know would do the same and every single teacher I know has made a plan in their mind about how they will do it if the time comes. #EverydayHeroes

Me: Some of my favorite students are graduating this year. My Kids: Mom, you say that about all of the kids you taught. Me: You’re right. They are all my favorites, aren’t they? But don’t tell them! Hopefully they all feel like my favorite, because they really were.

I was always a voice for parents about this as a teacher. It wouldn’t happen if teachers were paid for the time they work after hours. I’m so grateful to have a job now with flexible hours that expects me to put my family first.
It’s the last month of school, here are 97 activities in the middle of the day parents need to attend. -elementary schools

What teachers need most for #TeacherAppreciationWeek are things that money can’t buy.
