On this day in Leafs history: Carlton the Bear (pictured here with In-Arena Host Christine Simpson) made his Leafs regular season debut on October 10, 1995, in a 7-3 victory over the Islanders. Carlton made his first public appearance on July 29th of the same year. Carlton was given his name and number as a tribute to the address of Maple Leaf Gardens, which is of course 60 Carlton St. #Leafs @CarltonTheBear @MapleLeafs @MsChrisSimpson

If love & support can beat cancer I already know I’ve got this. 2 rounds of chemo under my belt & I’m feeling great. Thanks to the @NHL for the Hockey Fights Cancer care package & to the hundreds who sent messages, I’ve read them all & thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💜

Some news… I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully they caught it early, I’m feeling great, and they’re very optimistic about my outcome. My strength & resilience have always served me well & I know those qualities will continue to as I face this latest challenge.

Adding my congratulations to @lindacohn on a trailblazing career. She paved the way for so many women in sports broadcasting. And I always loved how much she loves hockey. 🏒 ❤️ Take a bow my friend & enjoy your flowers! 🌺

I’m happy for so many players on this Carolina team but especially for their coach Rod Brind’Amour. Iconic Cup lifts 20 years apart. #StanleyCup
