What is background knowledge and how do we build it?
Background knowledge is an essential element to reading comprehension. What we know impacts what we understand.
We can increase understanding by building background knowledge through the use of multimedia, a wide range of reading on a topic, playing with words, and connecting ideas with analogies.

Courtney Miller delivered an overview of using data for eligibility. Teachers had the opportunity to review exemplar documents and gain a foundation of the eligibility process.
Dr. Richardson @Ascension8 gave us a great opening on the importance of data collection from a compliance perspective. Great strategies on how to be intentional about collecting the data and providing visual supports to show student progress.
