My partner went to the market today and a seller there asked him when he’ll buy fish from her. And he replied that his wife doesn’t like fish. Of course, they asked him if I am mami water.
He came home to tell me and I just started laughing because I get this often when I say I generally don’t eat fish (except prepared under certain conditions).
Actually, I would be so wealthy if I got a dollar for every time someone asked if I was some sort of water spirit because they found out about my relationship with water (I have aquagenic urticaria) and the edible creatures that call it home.
Also, I have the Anansa sculpture that is in Calabar tattooed on my thigh, a wear seashell on a chain around my neck. I guess I may never beat the allegations fully. Lmao.
Finished book one. I loved it so much. So, next book? Yea.
I’ve heard so much about Malazan Book of The Fallen so today, I’m starting Book #1: Gardens of the Moon. Let’s see how much I enjoy this ride.
I may have gotten my partner out of a reading rut and into R.F. Kuang’s work because he is enjoying reading Babel which I recommended to him. It’s the first time he is reading a book in two years.

But that isn’t true.
Ukazi, Achara,Mgbam, Uzizi, Oha, and the bulk of our soups actually predate the war.
Some of us still have living relatives who were grown adults before the war, before Nigeria’s independence even. So this rewriting of Igbo culinary history cannot fly.

We are all citizens of the global Anglophone empire. How's celebratimg Beyonce's birthday different from fight over Chelsea and Man U on Naija streets?
How's Halloween different from any other global cultural event? Nigerians are tapped in and have been for decades
Lmaooo, Actually, carry on. I like shocking people with the “here’s my husband” line and they turn and see you and the outfit you have chosen for the day.
So yesterday at Glimpse of Glory Live with @Qoyeone , my partner introduced me to a tattoo client of hers as her husband and the babe goes “WAIT, THIS ONE???” and maybe I should take it as a sign to dress less slutty 💀

She’s correct. The APC’s strategy is hopelessness and it’s easy to wield it because they HAVE put us in a (seemingly) hopeless situation. But we must rise above it. 2027 #TinubuMustGo
I just engaged in trade by barter with a friend who sells niche stylish things: a small text tattoo in exchange for a beautiful belt for the love of my life.

Please start teaching your children how to spell Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, they’ll need it for their civic education exam.
I’m already prepping myself for that 40 minutes walk to my polling center in Calabar in January. I need that person out of Aso Rock asaptually.
I just want to say that @Qoyeone does such beautiful music. Actually it’s been steady good music tonight from Ajoke, Uncle Luwa, Qoye and of course the light of my life @IniOluwa_lomo.
Chakammmm
Replying to @Mo_Josh_Mayowa @PeterObi
Peter Obi's bank account was never frozen by the EFCC. #FakeNews

You are unreadable. People that write prose this way do violence to the language. They lack creative authenticity and conflate their ability to induce headache in the reader with originality.
They are bad for the culture of reading and thinking in general.
