We have some great writing happening in our classroom. Two students chose to write about the importance of being kind. We have conversations about how it is important to be kind and to treat others with respect on a regular basis in our classroom. 💗

I would like to give a big shout out to the intermediate students at our school. Thank you to everyone that created a fun art activity for us this week. We had so much fun painting our hands to create these cute little crabs. @McLeanMr
We read a great book at the beginning of the week. It got us talking about how we can help others. Students in our class are very helpful and kind. They are always ready to help a friend and encourage others to do their best.
We started writing in a new journal at the beginning of March. We are learning to put the date at the top of the page, and to keep our writing organized. We have made so much amazing progress this year. I am so proud!
Just wanted to send out a big THANK YOU to the grade 8s for the holiday read aloud. Students sent a video of them reading a story, and an activity for our class to complete. We listened to Snowmen All Year, and we talked about the different places we could go with our snowmen.
We have been talking about the seasons in science. We are learning about what we see, what we wear, and what we can do in each season.

We love to write! We came up with some writing goals today. Students chose a goal for their own personal writing.
We learned a new word today — perseverance. We know that it means to try our best even when something is hard. We read the story “After the Fall” and learned that it is important to always get back up and try again.
We created our own poppy field. We created poppies by tearing red construction paper. We added in some colour with green and blue pastels.
This week has been full of great discussions. We have had so many great conversations about what peace means to us.
We did our October writing today. Students wrote sentences independently. They did a fantastic job!! I am so proud. I heard students sounding out words and using finger spaces.
I just ordered some new books for our classroom. I think the kids will really enjoy them. I wanted to share our Scholastic class code. If you are looking to order books this year, you can check out Scholastic online. Our class code is RC158719.
We are learning about our roles and responsibilities is Social Studies. Students shared their responsibilities with classmates. We had a great discussion about how we help at home. Next, we will talk about our responsibilities at school.
