Very interesting convo at our dinner table. My kids were taking their time eating, so I decided to practice my mother's threats on them. Me: If I finish my food before you I'll take your food away. Son: That's a bad way of teaching your children how to eat.

I decided to switch to positive reinforcement, so I told his sister that since she finished eating first, I'd give her a gift, and congratulated her. Tell me why this boy also congratulated her and continued eating his food at his own pace.

I read both her and will’s book and a lot that relationship is Jada having to compromise and play the bad guy because will is likable and the bigger star
Jada Pinkett Smith clarifies the Red Table Talk “entanglement, revealing she and Will Smith had been completely separated since 2016 and why she took the blame as an adulteress “There been several breakups between Will and I… 2016 came and we had the ultimate break. But the world didn’t know. And I think that that’s where some of the misconception about having an open marriage came into play because we were living lives as single people. And the world didn’t know… I played a part in the misconception of that narrative of allowing myself to be portrayed as an adulteress, allowing myself to be portrayed as someone that had betrayed Will, and that wasn’t the case. We broke up in 2016… When we got to the table, Will wasn’t ready. He wasn’t ready for the world to know that. I had to respect that… I was ready to let go of the persona I had created around myself.”

But you were the one who insinuated that people had low national esteem for liking the sketch na. Why hide your hand now? Started a nollycivilwar because you cannot bear to imagine that people enjoy old nollywood in a way they do not enjoy your films. 1/
Aww darlings, I was on set shooting my new film (Details soon I promise💋 ) when I rather casually tweeted this in response to another tweet. A friend just called me now to tell me that it set you guys on fire. E pele ooo. You guys need to learn that it’s okay for other people not to like what you like or to disagree with your taste, you don’t have to become sworn enemies over it. I LOVE Nollywood as an industry and I’m invested in seeing it grow as such I love to see broader representations of it beyond the VCD era Nollywood nostalgia tropes. I also love nuanced representations of Nigerians, our accents, the ways we behave etc. It’s my preference. It’s fine that you enjoyed the sketch, I love that for you. If you felt proud of its representation, I love that for you too. It just wasn’t for me and that’s okay. I still love the Cynthia and British/Naija creatives that worked on it. Nothing against them ♥️ Now as you were. Rara says hi 💋

This week’s guest on the pod is an EXTREMELY beautiful NYC-based creator with a law degree. She’s a fashion and beauty icon loves to spotlight her favourite African designers And oh, she’s also a big fan of a certain Nigerian singer who just concluded his world tour 👀 Can you guess who she is?

I've long theorized that new age Nollywood directors have disdain for old Nollywood and Jade's tweets confirm that. Meanwhile, for all their careful accents and wannabeism, they cannot lace the boots of old Nolly.

I hate this fuckass country, but I'm also protective of her from foreigners badmouthing this fuckass country unjustly or exploiting her.
You can’t say Nigerians have main character syndrome when all you do is talk about Nigerians

As long as Nigeria remains one country, it is actually inevitable that we will achieve some degree of homogeneity in some specific areas. Our ethnic diversity won't disappear, but some practices from a particular ethnic group will just spread to the rest of us over time subconsciously. I know many people won't like the sound of this, but this is the path of all multicultural unions from the beginning of time.
The Yorubanization of Nigerian weddings. And I think it's sad. Traditional weddings should be done according to the culture of the bride. I'm sure Edo people have their own rites for traditional weddings. Why is the groom prostrating?

I have noticed an uptick of social media accounts targeting members of the Obama family. Recently, an account posted a picture of Malia to denigrate her for smoking a cigarette. Now this one is posting AI images of pregnant Sasha. Note the malicious use of the word "affair".
Barack Obama daughter Shasha Obama was spotted with baby bump, it seems she’s having an affair and chose to keep it of social media.

In 2006 a respected New York investment advisory, I forget their name placed Nollywood as top 10 industries to watch…. In 2025, same industry drove not one but 2 streamers back to the drawing board. It was not old Nollywood that dropped the ball if truth be told
