It was a distinct honor to host representatives of German football giants FC Bayern München and Dutch powerhouse AFC Ajax during their visit to Kenya to assess our preparedness and capacity to host a historic international football encounter at the Raila Odinga International Stadium, Talanta Sports City.
Our discussions were fruitful and constructive, paving the way for the much-anticipated clash between the two European clubs, scheduled for 5 January 2027, in what promises to be a landmark moment for Kenyan football.
I reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to a whole-of-government approach in delivering this historic event, facilitating the delegation’s engagements with key sectors, including the Min of Tourism and Wildlife as well as the Min of Interior and National Administration, to demonstrate Kenya’s capability to provide the necessary security, immigration, travel and hospitality arrangements for the teams, officials and international fans expected to attend.
So what prevented the German embassy in Nairobi from using the photo below to highlight the event ?
The one they used is extremely questionable. It will not be surprising if some players “fall sick “ before the match .
Bayern Munich cannot be used to fuel political agendas .
It’s great that they will be coming to Nairobi but politicizing this is extremely dangerous!
It will only take one tweet from a team member and the event will be history !

🇻🇳 🇩🇪 Youths from Vietnam received visa for vocational training in the Hotel industry in Germany. It now turns out that over 200 of them are “ missing “ from the institutes!
Investigations shows that the average cost the students pay to middlemen is about 18 thousand Euros .
When they get to Germany, their monthly stipend from the training institutes is only enough to take care of them in Germany but cannot pay back the 18 euros debt that the students owe the agents / middlemen .
The end result: Some students opt to stop the training and work illegally so as to get more money for paying back the debt .
Consequences: They end up with no qualifications. They risk deportation when caught working illegally.
