Here are some delayed thoughts on the delightful Vijay Sethupathi film #Baththa.. Do read it if time permits
"One of the most delightful aspects of Balaji Tharaneetharan's screenplay is the way in which it delivers nuggets of wisdom through dry wit," writes @Mullappilli in his #Baththa feature

Before Mitchell Starc had this brace, one commentator, I think @GraemeSmith49, said on air 'South Africa plays Starc well' or something along the lines. Amazing bowler. Brought Australia right back into the context here.
Congratulations Harry Kane on winning the Ballon D'Or. Not that your incredible talent needed any such validation for us to realise it. Richly deserved.
Man Utd asking someone whether they want to be the club manager... Is like a realtor endorsing a haunted house to a hapless guy desperate for one. Accept the proposal, and you are destined to be doomed. Iraola chose well
There were some moments in that game where the Anfield crowd went 'Oh, wow' when Wirtz passed the ball to the attacking half. No doubt that this guy is a world class talent. We are slowly starting to see the best version of him. Be patient with him, he will be a superstar soon.

Iraola has realised Wirtz must be ‘positionless’ rather than waiting for things to happen & focussed in staying closer to the striker. Dunk is expected to latch onto him but he’s clueless because Wirtz is too busy roaming around being the glue to every Liverpool attack. #LFC
This game could still swing Brighton's way, because they are a terrific side. But I get the sense that Iraola ball is cooking
Wonderful first half from Liverpool. Wirtz, Isak... That right back Ronald guy... Man, he is some player. Why did Barcelona even give him away?
Vijay Sethupathi has been part of some of Tamil cinema's best films, Baththa being the latest example. You can become a fine actor by honing your craft. But choosing quality scripts is a matter of intelligence, especially foresight, and VJS has it in abundance. Love his work
Ian Smith's commentary in this match was 🔥
#OTD
18.6 is epitome of using pace & leveraging angle in the oval shaped MCG. Kohli didn't seek it to come off the sweet spot, neither he waited for the ball to come in. He met it as ahead of his body as possible so that shorter & finer boundary came into play than going squarer
Excellent point. And, we took those two for granted. They were truly world class. Jadeja is still there, I know. Just saying.
Play some shot, maannn... I know it's easier said than done 🤣 But get out playing some shot, let it be defensive even. Don't leave and get clean bowled like this, it's a little embarrassing
