It was a great event and nice to catch up with some faces that I worked with alongside and some I have not seen in a few years. Kudos to the HRPA for recognizing the retirees.
Today we celebrated our most recent retirees, at the '@HRPAssoc 2026 Retirees Luncheon'. It was a great opportunity to reflect on so many wonderful careers and look forward to an amazing next chapter. Thank you to @DeputyWilkie . for attending on behalf of @HaltonPolice

OUA Week in Ontario is almost here! 🎉
From the people who built the OUA, to the student-athletes competing today, and to those who will shape what comes next, this week is about celebrating the entire OUA community.
October 3–11.

Burlington City Council unanimously refused a proposal to build 138 homes on 25 acres of the remaining Millcroft Golf Course lands. These lands are important not only as open space, but for the stormwater management function they provide in a community that has raised serious concerns about flooding and drainage.
The City has already asked the Province to use an MZO to permanently protect these lands as open space. With Council’s decision now subject to a potential appeal, we’re asking the Province to make a decision on our MZO request immediately.
As Mayor and spokesperson for Council, alongside the Ward 6 Councillor, we have written to Minister Flack, the Premier, and our local MPPs to listen to our community and respond with action.

So proud to have served with the HRPS as a sworn officer for 39 years and as a contract employee for the past 13.5 years. Proud of the current serving officers and civilians who keep the communities in Halton the safest in Canada. Be safe out there and look after one another!
I've had 44 years to reflect on policing and what it means across Canada.
There are thousands of police officers - dedicated professionals - who are committed to keeping everyone else safe.
As a leader in policing, it is a tremendous privilege to serve alongside our men and women on the frontlines and be given the opportunity to look out for their wellness.
As we begin the high school football season a reminder to all that if you give respect- you get respect!

This year has been particularly difficult for policing.
The loss of one officer is a tragedy that stops us in our tracks and reminds us of the risks that come with the profession we choose. Losing as many as we have this year has been earth shattering and has sent shockwaves through our community, testing our strength in the most difficult of times.
Together, we share the weight of our grief, refuse to let it break us, and instead, allow it to reinforce our purpose.
The Halton Regional Police Service was proud to welcome service members from across Ontario who are cycling more than 700km from Aylmer to Ottawa on their journey to the Canadian Police and Peace Officers' Memorial.
The Ride To Remember honours the ultimate sacrifice of our fellow police officers, and symbolizes our absolute solidarity with their family, friends, and colleagues who must carry on their legacy.
Heroes in life, not death, they gave everything, and left this earth in the highest regard - personifying heroism, purpose, and integrity.
We remember them today and always.

A GoFundMe has been set up for Jeff Smith, brave officer who was shot Sunday night protecting the Jewish community in Belleville, Canada. The Canadian Jewish community will continue to stand by the police that protect us. Please donate if you can and share the GoFundMe.

Today, our thoughts and prayers are with the injured Belleville police officer, family, friends, colleagues and everyone affected by this heartbreaking act of violence.
It is especially troubling that this incident occurred outside a synagogue as members of the congregation were gathering on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. A place of worship should always be a sanctuary where people come together in faith, peace and community.
As a policing community, we stand in solidarity with the injured officer, the Belleville Police Service and the entire Jewish community. We will always support one another. We remain united.
Although there is no known threat locally at this time, we will be increasing police presence around religious institutions in Halton. We are here to protect our communities, safeguard places of worship, and ensure everyone can gather safely, free from fear and violence.
@BLVLPolice
Their numbers are so true!
The numbers don’t lie:
60% of officials say abuse from parents/fans is a reason they leave.
50% say the same about coaches.
59% don’t feel respected by parents/fans.
Only 12% are under 34.
This is bigger than sports. It’s a culture problem.
And we’re on a mission to change it. 🧡

Four years ago, Constable Andrew Hong - a 22-year veteran with the Toronto Police Service - was tragically killed while on his lunch break, in a senseless attack that also took the life of two civilians.
A hero in life, not death, we remember Constable Hong as a man of honour, integrity, and bravery, and continue to serve with pride in his memory.
Remembering Police Constable Andrew Hong, who lost his life in the line of duty on September 12, 2022.
