I will probably get a lot of hate for this post but honestly not enough people are talking about the true courage of this man. Austin Metclaf’s dad has been rejected by supporters of his son and supporters of the boy who killed him. He has been kicked out of rooms with the accused killer’s family while also being shunned by his own supporters for ‘being too accepting and quiet.’ Although this man could easily just disrespect the family that killed his son for showing him disrespect and align with the people that want him to be furious and sound for a call to action he is still showing the world he is willing to live and not use this moment as an opportunity to spread hate but a moment to analyze it and create an opportunity fix it, the supporters of his son could have been his safe space. This man could also align with his son’s killer supporters and spend time attacking his son’s supporters who turned on him to have a safe space. This man displays the most Christ like features in this entire event. Metclaf’s dad chose to step out of safe spaces, alienate himself from them even, to go give us an opportunity to look at how quick we are willing to hate and kill each other over color. To me, he is one of the bravest men alive right now and he is my hero, and further proof that the wold truly is a crazy, and it only needs a little push to prove it. He is a man that refuses to push.
