You’ve def seen Jay Mac’s art! Man is talented as hell! Love reading how this journey began!!
6 years ago this week, my guy helped me secure the Salehe Bembury 2002R Peace be the Journey, probably my most coveted pair of shoes of that year and one of my all time favorites in my collection.
I offered him $ for blessing me, and he said he couldn’t accept it. I insisted on doing something special, he said “make me something”.
He knew I painted, customized shoes, etc…so knowing he was a die hard Yankee fan, I made him this MTA Yankee piece, made with wood, resin, and an actual subway map. It went viral on Instagram and I never looked back.
I’ve shipped art all over the world, I’ve been contributed on brand installations and activations , my art is owned by quite a few celebrities …but there is nothing like making something personal for someone.
To anyone who is making a living creatively or taking the steps to do so, keep going!
