Portal North Bridge continues to take shape as crews cut and weld new Track 2 rail while RCC advances track installation on the new Track 2 viaduct. At the same time, decommissioned cables and catenary are being removed from the existing bridge, marking another major step in the transition to the new structure. The newly installed No. 62 switch is also now in place, further connecting the future rail alignment across the project area.

ALT A railroad track welding scene with equipment set up for thermite welding. Orange molten metal is visible in the mold between the rails, and two torch-like flames are burning above it. A person in work boots and high-visibility clothing is working on the track. Gravel and tools are scattered around the site.

We know how to make our streets safer, so we did it 600 times.
Red light cameras reduce red light running by 80% and T-bone crashes by 65%. Most importantly, they help New Yorkers get home safely.
That's why we installed new red light cameras at 600 intersections across the five boroughs to help stop dangerous driving before tragedy strikes, and make our streets safer for everyone who walks, rolls, drives, or takes the bus.

Our laser train is back with a brand new look! ⚡
The newly rebranded train will help prevent slippery rail conditions by zapping away residue, left behind by crushed leaves, from our rails.
This will lead to fewer delays while keeping more train cars in service this fall.
