[I remember thinking in ~'97 this was a brave, bold decision to attempt in a 3D game simply to retain 2D Zelda's "feel". I wondered how on earth they would make it work – yet they pulled it off. I can't help but think the remake is a simplification of that original philosophy?]
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on N64 had a jump button in the early stages of development! They got rid of it to focus more on the puzzle elements. "You had to press a button to jump when we first started making The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." "We were thinking about The Legend of Zelda the whole time, and started talking about decreasing the action element in The Legend of Zelda and increasing the puzzle elements." - Yoshiaki Koizumi gamesradar.com/games/the-leg…

Sorry. Short Circuit wasn't much to write home about was it. Not that it stops the BBC showing it on every Bank Holiday (twice in May) all year, every year, ever since they bought it off the international film marketing board about a million years ago.

However, because Nintendo had to pay off large debts incurred by closing their Belgian, Dutch and French subsidiaries, profits actually declined by 14% to a piffling ¥101 billion (£500 million).

If there's one thing that went down a storm at E3, it was GoldenEye's deathmatch set-up.
