Tyrese Haliburton picked up almost exactly where he left off.
After missing all of last season and spending 486 days away from NBA basketball, he came back with 23 points and 12 assists in Indianaβs 123β120 win over New Orleans.
And this was not a quiet game to return to.
The 3PS momentum chart had 13 lead changes and 10 ties, Indiana up 10, New Orleans answering with a 12β0 run, and the game swinging back and forth deep into the fourth.
That makes Haliburtonβs control even more impressive. His last full-season profile had him 99th percentile in assists and AST/TO, 98th in AST% and 98th in PIR among guards.
The career arc had paused for an entire year.
First game back, and he immediately drops 23 and 12 in a three-point win.
Indiana got its point guard back.
