WT hit a point every season where they fall off dramatically physically, resulting in eye-watering scores against, an increase in mental fatigue errors, sin bins and penalties. Hope I’m wrong but yesterday was the red flashing light we see at the same stage every single year

🇹🇴 🇱🇧 24 hour update

Averillo, Frizell, Mann, Brailey take Top 30 spots of Star, Kit, Afoa and Hope. Tupou, Haywood, Roberts elevated from T&T/Dev deals to Top 30, (Jeral, Mason, Craig spots?)

Contracts: + 2030 Averillo Bula Ta. May Te. May Turuva + 2029 Doueihi Sa. Fainu Si. Fainu Makasini Tavana Twal

Latu Fainu set to start in the halves alongside former WT Tui Lolohea tomorrow night. 🇹🇴

WT having their core group of players under contract for the next 3-4 years is probably the most positive recruitment/retention moment since they started disbanding the 2011 side. Still have to nail halves call and fix their development stuff but win is a win.

Samuela one of the better examples of players being impactful without it reflecting in the stats. Good things happen around him whether it’s with the ball, or his effort plays on kick chase. Said it before but most impactful young player we’ve had since Teddy imo

Still remember people labelling Samuela a dud due to two quick penalties in his first trial against NZ. Probably worth giving kids a chance to settle in the top grades huh

Should be leading WT post-Api. Best player at the club who has still barely scratched the surface.

Go Douzzaa!! Gooo! Go! Go!

Great to see WT NRLW being active and looking to bring in the best young players in the women’s game. Have signed 18yo centre Anastasia Leatupue from the Roosters. Played NSW u19s as a 17yo this year, while also making the last two Australian Schoolgirls teams.

Latu reportedly trained in the halves with Tui Lolohea ahead of Tonga’s game, with Katoa out. Hopefully another crack for Latu. If Sukkar and Twal can refrain from any chicken wings, that would be super

Samuela’s reported extension lines up with Sione’s contract…and would think any Latu extension will do the same

- Samuela Fainu is set to sign a two year extension at WT, rejecting the chance to hit free agency. The extension will be worth $1.6 million, less than he would’ve commanded on the open market, amid interest from at least three rival clubs (Telegraph)
