Listening to @AbdulElSayed on @Morning_Joe, two statements stood out as serious warnings for the Jewish community and the U.S.-Israel relationship. I’m not even sure how he can clarify these remarks, because he stated his positions so clearly.
First, he has moved from opposing U.S. military aid to @Israel to calling for an end to all arms sales to Israel.
What would that mean in practice? Israel continues to face existential threats from Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and other armed groups. Ending arms sales raises serious questions not only about Israel’s ability to defend itself, but also about its access to the weapons and technologies that support its defensive systems and have helped protect at minimum tens of thousands of Israelis from being killed over the past three years.
So now it’s his official policy: This has never been just about foreign aid. It is also about Israel’s ability to defend itself. And such a policy could have two devastating consequences for America: 1. Leave our most important ally in the the Middle East, the Jewish state increasingly vulnerable to those seeking its destruction. 2. Force Israel to turn to countries that are not aligned with the United States for the weapons it needs to survive. Both would be terrible outcomes and disastrous American foreign policy.
Second, El-Sayed spoke of separating “Judaism and the Jewish people and Israel.” I have heard him speak about growing up surrounded by a Jewish community, attending bar and bat mitzvahs and Passover Seders, and having many Jewish friends. Yet he also makes clear his opposition to Zionism.
His remarks reminded me of a conversation I had a few months after the war began. I was part of a group of Jews and Muslims who came together to see how we could rise above the divisions and find common ground. One member of the group expressed a sentiment strikingly similar to El-Sayed’s: “I grew up in a Jewish neighborhood. I went to a hundred bar and bat mitzvahs. All my friends were Jewish. I’m not antisemitic. I’m just against Zionism.”
That conversation has stayed with me because it raises a fundamental question: What does it mean to embrace Jewish people and Jewish traditions while rejecting the Jewish people's 4,000 year connection to the land of Israel and Zionism? It is a narrative that must change.
For decades, elements of the pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel, BDS, and delegitimization movements have worked to drive a wedge between American Jews and Israel, while seeking to marginalize those who publicly support the Jewish state. The statements above are used to make Jews feel uncomfortable in settings.
One can disagree with Israel's government, oppose its policies, and criticize its leader s without denying the Jewish people's history, identity, or connection to their ancestral homeland of Israel.

If you are struggling to understand what is happening in American politics right now, watch this:
"Palestinization" is a concept that I developed two years ago to explain the framework that most electoral candidates, especially Islamist-aligned ones, use to align voter bases in the United States.
We saw this so evidently in the campaign messaging of the current elections.

Tucker Carlson is the number one mainstreamer of anti-Jewish hatred. Here’s how he does it.
He says it’s “not just Muslims” behind the Paris riots, then asks who brought the migrants: “Was it the Muslim lobby that got them here?… It might be worth finding out.” Just asking questions!
Turns out, he's not just asking questions: He credits the United States' 1965 immigration law to one man, a Jewish congressman: “Emanuel Celler, you know, passed his famous Hart-Celler Act.”
That’s the conspiracy theory he’s selling: Mass migration is a Jewish plot to destroy white countries. It’s what the Pittsburgh synagogue shooter and the Buffalo supermarket shooter believed.
The “Hart” in Hart-Celler was Sen. Philip Hart, a Catholic. JFK (Catholic) proposed the reform, Ted Kennedy (Catholic) managed it in the Senate, an overwhelmingly Christian Congress passed it 76-18 and 320-70, and LBJ (Disciples of Christ) signed it at the Statue of Liberty.
Most US refugee resettlement today is run by Christian groups: Catholic Charities, Church World Service, Lutheran (Global Refuge), Episcopal Migration Ministries and the evangelical World Relief.
And France isn’t the US. Hart-Celler has nothing to do with who lives in Paris. Carlson explains it himself at the start of the clip: France let in people from its former North African colonies “for the cheap labor.”

“The intent to destroy Hamas, or to end the enduring security threat posed by Hamas, is not genocide,” said MLI senior fellow @BrianCox_RLTW earlier this month.
Cox was in Australia to debate Chris Sidoti, a commissioner of the UN inquiry established to investigate Israel, on that inquiries finding that Israel committed genocide in Gaza.

This is maybe the greatest disquisition on the definition of Zionism I’ve ever heard.
It’s all encompassing in an irrefutable way.
He's phenomenal and kudos to @havivrettiggur and @breakfastclubam for this great interview and discussion.
I didn’t weep like an absolute baby during the Knicks championship ring ceremony and banner raising.
Fake news.

Christopher Hitchens: ”In 1786, when the United States was barely a country, it was having its sailors taken as slaves by the Barbary states, the states of the Ottoman Empire and North Africa. Tripoli, shores of Tripoli. Ships stopped, its crews carried off into slavery. We estimate 1.5 million European and American slaves taken between 1750 and 1815.
Jefferson and Adams went to their ambassador in London and said, why do you do this to us? The United States has never had a quarrel with the Muslim world of any kind. We weren't in the crusades. We weren't at war with Spain. Why do you do this to our people and our ships? Why do you plunder and enslave our people? The ambassador said very plainly, Mr. Abdul Rahman said, because the Quran gives us permission to do so, because you are infidels, and that's our answer. Jefferson said, well, in that case, I will send a navy which will crush your state, which he did.
Islamic fundamentalism is not created by American democracy. It's a lie to say so. It's a masochistic lie, and it excuses those who are the real criminals, and blames us for the attacks made upon us.”
