Great high school coaches are quitting because they don’t want to deal with all the nonsense that has nothing to do with basketball.. hard to blame them

Great shooters aren't born.
They're made in the countless hours they spend in the gym perfecting their technique and getting in repetitions.

High school basketball isn’t rocket science, but it does require relentless effort:
- Communicate non-stop on defense.
- Move without the ball like your life depends on it.
- Dive for loose balls even when you’re up 20.

High school basketball isn’t about flashy plays or highlight reels.
It’s about:
- Defending like your life depends on it.
- Making the extra pass every time.
- Sacrificing for the guy next to you.

Seniors: Only 2 months of HS basketball left. After the last game, when you realize what the last 4 years, your teammates & coaches have meant, you’ll begin to cherish it. Live in the moment; don’t take it for granted; enjoy the ride. These are some of the best days of your life!

Getting very angry at yourself after making mistakes in games isn’t going to help you play any better, so you might as well stay calm and continue to do the best you can. Leave your mistakes in the past. Learn from them, move on, and focus on the next play!

If your coach is being tough on you and demanding consider it a gift.
They probably see some things in you that you don't see in yourself.

Players,
Bad body language and how you handle mistakes can kill your teammates VIBE and also hurt a teammates INITIATIVE to make the next play.
How quick you forgive and move on is on you! How quick you can get over frustrated or mad is as big of a part of winning as any play.

Just because you’ve been a starter for three years doesn’t mean your position is safe. It’s your coach’s job to play the best player, no matter their age. Therefore, never get complacent. Keep working hard as if you’re neck and neck with someone trying to take your position.
