It’s hilarious watching some of you get your panties in a bunch over this….People think "just let us pick up our orders at PSA" is as simple as putting a folding table in the lobby.
From an operator standpoint, turning a closed vault into a public retail counter is an absolute nightmare:
The "follow-home" target: Right now, thieves have to figure out which FedEx truck has cards. Open a pickup door, and every single person walking out to their car with a PSA box or Pelican case is a guaranteed target. Crews just sit in the parking lot and follow you to a red light. The first time a collector gets robbed at gunpoint in PSA's parking lot, who gets sued?
You're letting people case the building: High-security vaults stay secure because the public never gets inside. Once you open a lobby, anyone can watch shift changes, camera blind spots, door buzzers, and how product moves from the back to the front.
The counter inspection bottleneck: Are you counting and inspecting 100 slabs at the window before you sign? If yes, every 10-minute pickup turns into a 45-minute lobby backup (plus people arguing over grades with the clerk). If you don't open it there and get home to find a cracked slab or missing card, it's your word against theirs with zero carrier insurance.
Staging + no-shows: Shipping runs on batch pallets on PSA's schedule. Will-call means pulling millions of dollars in orders out of the vault and holding them in a front room waiting on customers who show up 3 hours late because of SoCal or NJ traffic.
Vault insurance: Policies for facilities holding hundreds of millions in collectibles have strict rules against public access. Letting random foot traffic in the building either voids the policy or sends premiums to the moon.
There's a reason PSA only does drop-offs at controlled events or dedicated partner shops.
I hope they figure out something, but you noobs acting like it’s elementary are just uniformed.
A PSA/FedEx Heist-Free Weekly Sports Card Market Update

Again, someone needs to be held accountable!!!!!
FedEx left a truck of freshly graded PSA cards UNATTENDED for 60–90 minutes right outside the facility.
The lock was broken and MULTIPLE pallets of sports and Pokémon slabs (valued at nearly $1 million) were stolen while the driver was away.
The cards had already been graded by PSA and were in FedEx’s possession for delivery back to their owners.
Under the Carmack Amendment (49 U.S.C. § 14706), interstate motor carriers are generally liable for the actual loss of goods in their care. A shipper typically only needs to show the goods were tendered in good condition and never arrived (or arrived damaged).
The carrier then has to prove both that it was free of negligence and that the loss falls under a narrow exception (act of God, public enemy, shipper fault, etc.). Ordinary theft and leaving high-value cargo unattended for that long do NOT qualify from what I’ve read.
PSA is compensating customers up to the Maximum Insured Value each person declared before grading. That is a contractual limit between the customer and PSA. It does NOT automatically limit what FedEx may still owe as the carrier.
Collectors who declared lower values are about to see the difference between insurance coverage and full damages under carrier liability.
A mess and a half!!!
Another targeted theft, $100k in cash and $100k in cards stolen.
More details they went to show yesterday left hotel this morning stopped at Starbucks and got hit.
They were basically followed for more than a day before getting hit.
Not much market in these over what they were offered for ebay.us/cvVdkT #ad
In person pickup sounds good on paper until you realize it would put a massive bulls eye on every person leaving the property. We already have countless stories about people being followed from Card Shows, could you imagine an endless steam of collectors driving away from PSA property with high end orders?
