Crazy huh Dave @DCLTheThird ?
The longest throw in NFL history by air distance (tracked since 2016) is Baker Mayfield's 70.5-yard incomplete Hail Mary in 2020. Pre-tracking estimates include Tom Brady's ~75-80 yard pass to Randy Moss in Super Bowl XLII (incomplete), often cited as the all-time longest, though not officially measured.

i think the point is more so that defenses have drastically evolved within the last 10 (even the last 5) years and suddenly no one is consistently putting up late '10s passing numbers like we were more accustomed to. Tom Brady ain't passing for 5300 yards in this era.

Blaming Mahomes’ regression on improved defenses is schizophrenic. Did every QB improve besides him? It doesn’t explain his drop in accuracy and explosive plays relative to his peers. As KC’s weapons declined, so did his production. Ever think that OP offense masked limitations?

Well well well
Which QBs are getting help from their supporting cast? Factors: — Pressure (%) — Drop (%) — Average Target Separation — YAC/Reception

I think I’m cynical because of tweets like this. THE CHIEFS HAVE TWO MILLION DOLLARS IN SPACE, and are NEGATIVE 14m for next year with only 41 guys signed. Pickens cap hit this season is TWENTY SIX MILLION. It is not possible to change that because he is franchise tagged.
Chiefs most realistic option at WR

Edelman is ranked 156th in all time receiving yards for the regular season and 261st for touchdowns. While he has the most playoff receiving yards ever, that’s in large part because he’s played in significantly more games, because he played with TB12 Outside top 50 in YPG.
Replying to @NFLSTATISTIC
No. We both don’t know it. You should google who has the most playoff receiving yards ever

Chiefs are 10th in Pass Block Win Rate and 3rd in Run Block Win Rate. The offensive line is still doing just fine man, third stringers or not.

They’re down to third string tackles, and who’s the number one receiver Yeah, you’re having a day man

Derek Carr threw for more than 4500 yards one time, and was great with a lightning in the bottle sort of spark of luck. Aside from that he threw for 4100 once, and surpassed 4000 (including the 4100 and 4800) four times. Thats it The game is akin to college much more today.
i was with you until this point man. saying the game is "so much easier and dumbed down" is such a dogwhistle. defenses are more complicated in every way than they were in Brady's day. Derek Carr used to throw for 4500 yards in a season in the early '10s. this is a bad take.

Dude this does not help the argument whatsoever? So 11 out of 19 seasons he’s had a top 12 offense? 10/19 it’s been top 10 without Mahomes? Do you not see how that is insane????
It’s really not that hard, man. I’m an Andy Reid fanboy, because I believe him to be a spectacular head coach/leader of men, but his offense the last three years is very similar to what his offense was prior to 2018 Any read for 80% of his career has ran a ball control offense

Reid builds teams around speed. That’s what it’s been. You don’t have the amount of massive broken plays that they’ve had, without the drops. They draft and sign outstanding athletes over skilled, even Swiss Army knife players.
Worthy’s hand placement…they coach this shit out of you in like 8th grade…

There is no “MASSIVE” lack of talent. There is the reigning SB MVP, who despite having 36 yards last night, is only 3 behind Bijan and has played one less game. He is an ELITE weapon Kelce is older, yes, and is 4th in TE YPG. This is what an AVERAGE offense looks like.
This team would be 0-6 without Mahomes lmao massive lack of talent on offense

Who is worse? The Titans Commanders Colts Jags Chargers Saints Steelers Jets Browns Dolphins Cardinals Patriots Broncos None of those teams have more than one solid asset, and KW9 is that much better than all of them. Other teams like LV and Carolina are on par.

These are the supporting casts Tom Brady had in New England in his six Super Bowl victories. 3 players to go over 1000 yards. One player to go over 8 TD. It’s over bud. Honestly, it never really started. Time to stop talking about Brady.

Nobody will ever have the supporting cast and stability Tom Brady had in New England

We’re so used to Reid scheming up an uncovered player and Kelce amongst others finding an open hole that we don’t notice Xavier Worthy open here. Guys: this is what a normal window to throw the ball looks like.
He does bail on pockets too often but absolutely nobody was getting open with this route scheme. Only way is to move defenders by scrambling

Then he was never as good as people made him out to be, putting all of his success numbers wise on him. It really is one or the other.

Three of his games have been a sub 60% cmp% He’s turned the ball over in 4/6 games Two games have gone for 0/1 TD:INT Two games with sub 200 passing yards. He’s missed often this season. No idea how this is “awesome for 90% of the season”. This is “he can do no wrong to me”
Replying to @fartyytraf
He’s been awesome for like 90% of the season

I’ve said for years that prematurely crowning Mahomes the GOAT would backfire. The media sold everyone the shiny new toy, pretending he’d already surpassed Brady. Now that he’s regressed, the ones who built him up are turning on him. It was always about selling a narrative.
He’s still going to be 1st ballot but 20 years from now people kids are going to look back at the numbers and be really really confused when you tell them at one point people were saying he was top 2 all time at 26 years old lol this is why it’s important not to jump the gun

FWIW I’m not saying Mahomes isn’t an all time great. He’s just Joe Montana’s entire career in rings away from Brady. To catch Brady by 40, he’d need roughly 5,300 yards, 38 TDs and 16 wins per year. Brady isn’t just ahead of him - he’s a GOATs entire career ahead of him.
