INTERESTING: Karnataka ‘sting’ chronology: Has Union Cabinet Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s alleged political plot backfired?
*First, a purported sting operation targets Siddaramaiah, one of Karnataka’s tallest OBC leaders, with allegations Bengaluru Police now say appear fabricated.
*Then Kumaraswamy accuses D.K. Shivakumar of orchestrating the sting to blackmail Siddaramaiah and force him out of office.
*The apparent result? Two Congress leaders under a cloud of suspicion, with the party’s internal fault lines exposed.
*But the investigation has taken an unexpected turn. Bengaluru Police say the allegations in the video are false and concocted. Investigators have traced its circulation to individuals linked to the JD(S) social media network. A phone allegedly used to upload the video reportedly reached an associate at Kumaraswamy’s official Delhi residence.
*Kumaraswamy denies wrongdoing, has challenged the investigation, and his personal involvement has not been established.
So the central question now is: was this an attempt to discredit Siddaramaiah and drive a wedge between him and Shivakumar? And could the investigation end up raising uncomfortable questions for the BJP-led NDA and its JD(S) ally?
An operation apparently aimed at exposing Congress divisions has now put the spotlight on the BJP-JD(S) camp in Karnataka .🙏

DMK MP Wilson says IndiGo aircraft suffers engine failure & @DGCAIndia should never have offered the flight an airworthiness certificate: @PWilsonDMK has hit out at the aviation regulator for granting an airworthiness certificate to an “unsafe” @IndiGo6E flight. The MP said that his flight from Kolkata to Shillong on Sunday had to return just before take-off allegedly due to an engine failure.
Flight 6E 7423 took off at 1.40 pm with 70 passengers from Kolkata airport when the incident happened. It included four MPs on their way to Shillong to attend a Joint Parliamentary Committee public hearing.
In a post on @X , the Rajya Sabha MP said, “The flight suddenly stopped while taxiing from the parking bay towards the runway. Before take-off, an engine failed and was shut down. Passengers were stranded on board for about two hours. Afterwards, the pilot announced a technical glitch and cancelled the flight.”
Wilson, also a senior advocate charged, “The truth is that the flight was unsafe, and it is unclear how the DGCA granted this aircraft an airworthiness certificate—a serious violation. “
He also called upon the Civil Aviation Minister @RamMNK to direct the DGCA to conduct an impartial review of all airworthiness certificates for aircraft across the country and determine whether they are truly airworthy.
The MP also called for surprise checks by vigilance units where required. “If they are not (airworthy), the DGCA should cancel their certificates, ground the aircraft and prohibit them from flying,” his post continued.
He alleged that “the unholy nexus between some airlines and some DGCA officials that allows them to operate unsafe aircraft, sometimes without certificates, often leads to flight crashes (e.g. AI 171).”
An airworthiness certificate cannot be allowed to remain valid for an aircraft that is truly unworthy to fly, he added. “This directly compromises passenger safety, operational integrity and global regulatory norms. The offenders should be punished, and erring officials should be sacked,” he demanded.
Asked for its version of the incident, IndiGo refused any comment. (Pic courtesy: Mr Wilson on X) @xpresstn

Mr Sharda.
1. More than touched, amused that you still don't know the difference between support and report -maybe not propogandists but it's the basic job of journalists to report what they see be it anarchic or democratic...also as the lot of you is still fixated on numbers - ramilia maidan was packed to capacity (capacity of ramlila maidan is 50 to 75 k )
2. To document a political rally is not anti - BJP 🙂 to misreport or block it is surely anti democratic.
3. There is a huge market for truth- telling out there ready to be tapped.. Try it !
4. Also factual correction, not an independent journalist duly employed and proudly so with my network 🙂
Lastly, having authored a few books on ideology does not give you the authority to classify our religion. On the contrary, those who are quick to slot everything into “pro-Hindu” and “anti-Hindu” categories are an insult to the very religion they claim to protect... Jai Shri Krishna ! .. Oh ! And happy diwali:)
I am touched by @PreetiChoudhry 's "independent" journalistic efforts to support "Anarchic dissent" of #RahulGandhi. I have an idea. Why don't @sardesairajdeep & she start a new "independent" channel? They can give employment to many "independent" youtubers. There is a huge anti BJP & anti Hindutva market ready to be tapped.😊🌹

The very essence of Dravidian ideology is self respect, individual freedom and the right to choose.!
If Thiru Durai Murugan were to impose his ideological beliefs on his family, disregarding their personal wishes, wouldn’t that be patriarchy…? something the Dravidian movement has consistently opposed…?
Dravidianism should empower individuals to make their own choices, not dictate what those choices must be! 🎯

I can't fathom why a number of people - men mainly but also women have taken to not wearing innerwear. When one speaks of fashionably showing off cleavage, a view of the buttocks isn't what I had in mind. Especially when wearing jeans. They bend over to pick up something & wham !

Don't trust the polls(?) New from me: I tried to sign the bias on historical Senate polling misses. First, we can see while polling has favored both parties, it consistently overestimated Democrats this decade. Not news for Dems battling 2020 PTSD. But this hides a pattern: (1/n)

The BJP’s doors have effectively been closed to genuine feedback. The party is now almost entirely dependent on the personal success and political capital of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as both a leader and a politician.
It also tends to treat any criticism of its mistakes or miscalculations as a conspiracy, which leaves virtually no room for honest dialogue or internal discussion.
On a near-daily basis, one BJP leader or another can be seen mocking or belittling the party’s own supporters and their ideological commitments.
Power has become heavily centralised, with little tolerance for dissent even from within the party. Core ideological positions are often diluted or set aside for short-term electoral gains, creating a growing disconnect between the leadership and the cadre. Internal democracy has weakened, and decisions are increasingly driven from the top rather than through broader consultation. As a result, long-standing supporters frequently feel sidelined or taken for granted.

The Democrats are gonna win tomorrow, but they're so divided and headless. You've got:
* Leftists who still think Palestine is everything
* Angry old ladies who hate Trump but otherwise have no idea what they want
* Intellectuals who are still just really really mad that Mark Zuckerberg is rich
* Center-left Climate Libs who have basically just given up and think China owns the future
* Weird splinter factions of woke Bluesky cancel culture people running around calling everyone anti-trans
* Abundance?

A bit harsh, but mainstream intellectuals of this country are also majorly responsible for the state of the nation today. Write as many anti-regime op-eds and papers as you like now. History of your legitimisation of that man will not be erased or forgotten that easily.

Unless AY gives assurance that Law and Order will not be a problem, it will be a close election.
If he can assure people that law and order will maintain, he can win 300 plus seats .
The people from the Dravidian ecosystem who have been triggered by watching their hypocrisy on "self-respect" marriages collapse - a few questions.
1. Do you believe a person must treat his granddaughter like property & force her to undergo the type of marriage he insists on ?
7. Of all the hypocrisies that exist why is this particular hypocrisy treated differently ? Why not talk about how Durai Murugan sent Dr Kathir Anand to a private elite English medium school while lecturing others about Tamil medium education ? The DMK is all about hypocrisy.
