Your parents won't see you grow old. Your partner never knew you as a child, and your children won't remember you young. You are the only person who witnesses every version of yourself. Take care of yourself, value yourself and love yourself. You are your lifelong companion.

One of the harshest realities of poverty is that it takes away your freedom to fail. Every decision carries a cost, and every mistake feels like a luxury you can’t afford.

We Christians do need to wake up. AI isn't a demonic force today, superintelligent AI tomorrow will be. Hard for people to understand now, everyone will understand after we experience the first effects of the singularity if we keep going.

Why do people try to humble naturally humble people?
Like… what exactly are you trying to take away? The ego I never had?

I have a deep appreciation for people who never misuse the access they have to others. People who understand that closeness does not give them permission to cross boundaries. They know there is always a line that must be respected, even when familiarity makes it easy to ignore.

The man who invented the operation that saves babies born with blue-baby syndrome had no medical degree, no college degree, and was listed on the payroll as a JANITOR.
He guided the first operation from a stool behind the surgeon's shoulder, telling him where to cut.
Vivien Thomas. He had been saving to study medicine when the 1929 crash wiped out his savings and the bank holding them.
He took a job as a lab assistant at Vanderbilt for a janitor's wage, because that was the classification available.
Within a couple of years he was running experimental surgery — developing techniques, performing operations on his own, training surgeons.
He moved to Johns Hopkins with Alfred Blalock in 1941, where he was still paid as a janitor and had to enter through a back door.
He was the only Black man in that building not carrying a mop.
He worked out the surgical fix for tetralogy of Fallot — the condition killing infants who turned blue and died — and built the instruments for it.
The first operation on a child was in 1944. Blalock, who had never done the procedure, asked Thomas to stand behind him and talk him through it.
The surgeons on the paper became world famous. Thomas was not credited.
Hopkins hung his portrait in 1971 and gave him an honorary doctorate in 1976. Generations of surgeons he personally trained insisted on it.
He was paid as a cleaner while inventing heart surgery.

The abyss gazes also into you.

In life you will come across some leaders who are so terribly petty and ego-driven, they should have no business being in leadership, and you wonder how they got there in the first place.

BREAKING:
A US B-1B Lancer bomber took off from RAF Fairford in the UK tonight with full afterburners, likely heading toward the Middle East.
A heavy afterburner takeoff can indicate the bomber is carrying a large weapons load.
US has also issued security alerts for its embassies across the Middle East as tensions rise.
Some reports suggest the US could resume major strikes against Ansarullah in Yemen following its attacks on Saudi Arabia.
Ansarullah could respond by closing the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, which which connects Asia and Europe.
The situation could also be connected to the ongoing tensions with Iran.
