Our Year 4 children received their Trinity College, London, accredited certificates for the submitted pieces to the @NSA_Arts after school today. A massive achievement for our children. They have produced stunning art work!

Nursery @NewSilksAcademy explored flowers today, looking closely & drawing what they saw. One child made a flower using a stick she found in the garden, carefully wrapping the stick with pink thread and wool. Very soon, her friends joined her. 💐

Nursery were inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe's 'Sky Above Clouds'. Children worked together using their own choice of media & materials to create a large-scale piece of artwork, which they proudly displayed. ☁️☁️🛩💙

It warms my soul when I see our youngest children enjoying opportunities for free artistic exploration. Today, this 2 year old was completely absorbed, just painting a cup. Nobody existed for that moment in time. Beautiful 😍

First we layered paint on sugar paper with different colours and textures to add depth. We then cut out shapes to match our insect samples.
Results speak for themselves. Every single one is as unique as the artist!

Yr 4 pupils @EldonGroveAcad completed Still Life projects and 'discovered' so much in the process. It has been wonderful to observe the creative journey and hear the children talk so passionately about their work and what art means to them.

...children @eldongrove were also inspired by literature. One child said they enjoyed exploring and "using charcoal to create the mood and atmosphere" in response to the nonsense poem 'Jabberwocky' 🖤 @ArtsAward
Nursery enjoyed playful exploration of materials, processes & ideas to create spring pictures. Nurturing dexterity skills, promoting an early understanding of visual literacy, & building confidence in their ability to make a personal, creative response to a stimuli. @accessart
Year 2 children explored observational drawing and experimental mark making in response to natural forms.

Pigments in flowers make nature beautiful and attract pollinators, but we can also use them to make art. Today, we noticed that sometimes, the colour transferred was not as expected. 🔨🌸

The children used pieces of cardboard to paint the body and then the head, painting without an outline and then added the beak and feet.
