Breaking: Utica Fire and EMS along with La Salle and Oglesby EMS are on the scene of a two vehicle crash with a rollover on IL Route 71 in Utica just past the City Limits tavern. Traffic is closed in both directions.

Breaking: A large fire has broke out at Batteries & Things in La Salle. It has been upgraded to a 2nd alarm. Please stay away from the scene. An emergency alert has been put out to move indoors and close windows.
If you saw a helicopter at Starved Rock today, don't worry; nobody fell. The helicopter was used to transport materials to Tonti and La Salle Canyons as part of an $18 million state investment to upgrade trails, bridges and stairways throughout the park.

Busy news day in Bureau County. Fire crews battled a large structure fire in Ohio, Illinois this morning, and a water rescue happened this afternoon on Big Bureau Creek near the Captain Swift Bridge in Princeton.

While I’m being told that the Bears announcement on Hammond is “real”,
i.e. not a leverage play, a league source told me that the Bears leaving the state is not a done deal. Per source, Indiana is in the lead right now, but “Illinois can still get back in the race,” granted the state has a lot of ground to make up after not passing legislation that would have insured the Bears property tax certainty.
