I know people expect professional footballers to control themselves, even when things get heated. I should have walked away, and I regret allowing the situation to reach that point. “I'm really emotional because I've let my team down. We went into that game wanting to win, but instead of keeping my head in the game, I got involved in something that took attention away from what we were trying to achieve. “To all our fans, I'm really sorry for the loss. You support us through the good and bad moments, and you deserve better than what we showed you. I know an apology won't change the result, but I want you to know that I'm taking responsibility for my part in what happened. “People will judge me, and I understand that.
