On Saturday, October 17, National Move Over Day, the Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police, conducted focused enforcement of Nevada's Move Over laws throughout Northern Command. Troopers issued 50 citations and 4 warnings for Move Over violations. During the enforcement effort, troopers also reported other traffic enforcement activity, including speeding violations and a DUI investigation. “Every day, our troopers, first responders, tow operators, road crews and others work along busy roadways, often just feet from moving traffic. Failing to slow down and move over puts lives at risk. We ask every driver to pay attention, slow down and move over when safe. Traffic Safety Enforcement | US 93, Elko County On Saturday, October 17, the Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police, partnered with the Elko County Sheriff's Office for a special traffic and commercial vehicle enforcement operation along US 93 in Elko County. “Through enforcement and education, we work to change unsafe driving behaviors and prevent tragedies on Nevada's roadways. Whether you're behind the wheel, responding to an emergency or working along the roadside, everyone deserves to get home safely to their loved ones.” said Matt McLaughlin, Captain, Nevada Highway Patrol Central Command. Traffic Enforcement Results: • 97 traffic stops • 68 citations and 6 warnings • 10 Move Over Law citations • Violations included speeding, occupant restraint violations and hazardous moving violations. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Results: • 40 commercial vehicle inspections • 60 violations identified • 4 drivers placed out of service The operation coincided with National Move Over Day and focused on increasing law enforcement visibility, addressing unsafe driving behaviors and improving roadway safety for everyone. Safe driving is everyone's responsibility. Slow down, move over and make safety a priority every time you get behind the wheel.

#TrafficAlert IR15 southbound at mile marker 77, is closed, due to a fatal crash. All southbound IR15 traffic will be diverted off onto the IR15/Exit 93 (State Route 168). Traffic will be able to take State Route 168 (Glendale-Moapa Road) to the US93. Traffic will continue onto southbound US93 back into the Las Vegas area. IR15 will be closed for an unknown amount of time, due to investigation.
