Or, maybe it's because the media treats him like absolute trash and he's like eff them, why would I help make their jobs easier? Just a thought. 🤷‍♂️
Bryson has now skipped media after seven straight major rounds. Is he dodging the media or is it more strategic? Why give the biggest moments of your career to Golf Channel or ESPN when you can monetize the attention yourself? How do you think a “Bryson Recaps his Open Week” episode would do on his YouTube channel next week?

This.
Five to play five. Read this before you panic. The NCAA changed a rule this week. Your feed is going to fill up with hot takes, and almost all of them will be about football. Let me give you the calm version and what it actually means for a junior golfer’s family. For a long time, college athletes had five years to play four seasons. There was almost always a wasted year built in. A redshirt. An injury year. A season on the bench. As of this week, Division I moved to five seasons over five years. That fifth season isn’t something you have to earn through a waiver anymore. It’s built in. The clock now starts after a player turns 19 or first enrolls full time, whichever comes first. That one change reshapes the math of college rosters. Here’s what you need to see. The rosters just got older. When every player can use a full five seasons, fewer of them leave early. Coaches keep their experienced golfers longer. Turnover slows down. The lineup your child is trying to crack in two or three years is going to be older, deeper, and more tested than the one on campus today. This isn’t a doomsday headline. It’s a fact to plan around. The freshman who plays in the fall is becoming a rare story. More often, a newcomer spends a year or two earning their way into the lineup behind upperclassmen who aren’t going anywhere. Which means fewer spots open each year. Simple math. If players stay five years and rosters turn over slower, fewer chairs open up each recruiting cycle. The top of Division I gets tighter. That pressure doesn’t disappear. It pushes down and out, toward Division II, Division III, NAIA, and junior college, where a lot of golf careers are quietly thriving. So here’s the move. Get realistic about fit. This is the part I care about most, and it’s where calm parents win. When spots are scarce, the worst thing a family can do is chase a logo. Reaching for a program where your kid would be the eighth man on a seven man travel roster isn’t ambition. It’s a recipe for a transfer, a year of frustration, and a player who loses the love of the game sitting in a parking lot after a tournament they didn’t get to play in. The families who handle this well do something harder and smarter. They look honestly at where their child can actually play, contribute, and grow. A starting role at a strong Division II program will develop a golfer faster than four years on the bench at a big name Division I school. A great academic fit at a Division III where your kid competes every weekend beats a roster spot they can’t crack. Fit isn’t the consolation prize. In this new world, fit is the strategy. Talent gets a kid noticed. Honest self assessment gets them a career. This week: Sit down and ask one question together, out loud. Where can my child actually play? Not where do we wish. Not where it sounds impressive at a dinner party. Where can they be recruited, compete, contribute, and love it. Write down programs that pass that test. That list is worth more than any ranking. The rosters got older this week. The smart families just got more honest. This is the work I do with Elite families. I’m a performance coach for you and for your player on the things that really matter, and I manage recruiting start to finish. Everything your swing coach doesn’t touch. Embarrassing. It's past time for the @USGA and @PGA stop rewarding these clowns with a major every other year.
I’m going to rank New York golf fans 51st out of 50.

Seems weird when all I heard this week from the twitter experts who pay attention to college golf one week a year said the coaches were just getting in the way…..
Long time Oregon State men’s golf coach Jon Reehoorn will resign from his position as head coach and plans to caddy full-time on the PGA Tour for Joel Dahmen. He was truly one of the best out there and will be missed!
