Reminds me of the story of Toni Nadal, Rafa Nadalโs uncle. Family can really play a huge part in the life of your child.
He started training his nephew in Tennis from the age of 4. The man was so disciplined that he didnโt care if Rafa was a child, heโll drill the hell out of him. Rafa would go home and cry.
His mother had thoughts of stopping him from going to train, because she didnโt like that her young child was being drilled that way. Rafa also became tough that he didnโt want his mum to interfere๐
In fact, the reason why Rafa Nadal was so good on clay court was primarily because Mallorcaโs courts were clay, and his uncle also preferred it rather than taking him to hard courts. His uncle wanted him to be dirty since he was young. That would show that heโs worked hard when you can see the dirts all over you. He said he wanted his socks to be dirty.
There were times he would shout at a 13 year old Rafa Nadal, drill him to breaking point. After training in a group, every other kid would go home, he would make Rafa sweep the courts๐
.
In fact, during training in the heat, he does not let Rafa drink water in the first hour. No water. You must suffer.
This was part of the mind games, he would let Rafa almost win training games, and then start beating him, with the mindset that he must stay locked in, he was simply preparing Rafa Nadal for the big stages.
The funny part is that Rafa Nadal once said, playing matches is easier than training with his uncle ๐
Together, they went on to win 16 grand slams. 10 French Opens, 2 Wimbledons, 3 US opens, 1 Australian Open. Then his uncle left the team. Rafa won 6 titles afterwards to make up his 22 grand slams.
Please watch Nadalโs documentary if you havenโt. These are the things I spend my time watching. Very interesting documentary. Itโs also one that shows how a family member can play a huge role in the life of your child, hence, the relation to this tweet.

Iโm excited to formally announce that Iโve recently accepted a new, permanent role as Dad.
The onboarding was quite intense, the hiring manager cried through most of the interview, and while the compensation package isnโt monetary, it consists mostly of smiles, momentary tiny-finger grips, burping, and frequent diaper changes.
Itโs a full-time role with no salary, unlimited overtime, evolving KPIs, rotating night shifts, no weekends off, no paid leave, and daily performance reviews that begin around 2AM. Yet, Iโve never accepted a role with a greater sense of purpose.
Iโm looking forward to growing in this permanent role alongside my incredible wife and our newest teammate, Baby Zikora.
I hope you now understand why Iโve been away for so long, leaving my emails and DMs unattended. Iโll start clearing the backlog soon, and I crave your indulgence in the meantime.
Signed,
Daddy Zee.

I earned $120K a year working for Shell in 2012.
Ten years and multiple promotions later, in 2022, that figure has doubled to $240K a year.
In 2023, I stumbled on an internal, confidential, document that showed the salaries of my superiors.
I saw that even if I were promoted multiple times again, the best I could hope for in another 10 years was another doubling to around $480K a year.
This may sound crazy saying it out loud but that wasnโt cutting it for me.
I simply didnโt want the next 10 years to be a repeat of the last 10.
I wanted geometric progression, not an arithmetic one.
On my 40th birthday, in 2023, I was asked to make a wish as a blew the candles on my birthday cake.
โGet the hell out of Shell,โ I quietly whispered. Months later, I was out.
In 2024, my businesses grossed $500K; in 2025, they did $1M - geometric progression.
It required me to be delusional about my abilities, to bank on the faithfulness of God and to trust that inner voice that always nag at me that I could be more, I could do more and I could have more.
Your lateral thinking is the problem.
You earned $100k last year.
This year, you want to do $120k, even though you could wipe the slate clean and do a million.
The measurement of your performance against a benchmark that amplifies mediocrity.
That is the problem.
You cannot create the impossible by looking up to the possible.
Break down that frame and construct one that has never existed.

This World Cup is going to be one of the most attended. I know some people had their reservations about attendance, but one thing people underestimated is that the tournament is being hosted by the United States, the true melting pot of cultures.
No matter which country is playing, the stadiums are packed. Every nation seems to have a community that calls America home, and they show up to support their teams.
Even with the high cost of tickets, the turnout has been remarkable. It's another proof of the sheer spending power of the American consumer and the unique advantage of hosting a global event in such a diverse country.
The United States is truly Godโs own country.
Canada hasn't disappointed with its attendance, too.

I like how coordinated all these communications are.
Itโs a good experience for who has interest in things like that.
All of these could have been revealed a long time ago but the parties involved but theyโve all strategically waited till now.
On the same day Chelsea revealed why Maresca left, Maresca revealed why he left too, confirming what Chelsea said, and apologised for his part in how their season exploded.
Chelsea revealed he and Man City will pay a compensation, and on the same day, Man City announced his signing.
All of that happened within 45 minutes to 1 hour of the other.
๐จ๐ต OFFICIAL: Enzo Maresca statement on Chelsea exit.
โThe decision to leave was only mine. My resignation from Chelsea opened a path for me to join Manchester City, which is a club I knew very well. I am ecstatic that I have now joined Manchester Cityโ.
โI recognise that my departure from Chelsea in the middle of the season caused disruption for the club and I apologise for that. It was neither my intention nor my wishโ.

Almost all the stadiums being used for the 2026 World Cup in the United States were renovated and modernized rather than built from scratch. Thatโs the advantage of having world-class infrastructure already in place.

I watch another solid performance from Onuche Ogbelu against Sfaxien today.
He will be leaving Esperance of Tunisia to join Al Ittihad Tripoli at the end of the season. I was really hoping heโd make a move to Europe (Belgium, Norway, etc) this time
But Iโm relieved with the fact that heโd be training under a tactically sound coach in Rulani Mokwoena, one of the best in the business.
Unity Cup would be a good opportunity to show what this boy has got to offer Super Eagles.

BELGIUM:
Nickname: Red Devils.
Personal nickname: Underachievers.
Head coach: Rudi Garcia.
Group G(Egypt, Iran and New Zealand).
Opening match: Egypt.
World rankings: 9th.
Formation: 4:2:3:1. It can quickly change to 4:3:3. The wide players will play a pivotal role.
Pattern of play: Belgium wing play might be second to non. They will seek to exploit the wing while ultra relying on the midfield to create. They would be a joy to watch as they will constantly attack nonstop. Expect a quick press to win the ball immediately they lose it.
Best world cup finish: A third place finish in 2018 was their highest place finish.
Team captain: Kevin De Bruyne.
Best world Cup moment: There are many great moments. I will choose the Kevin De Bruyne wonder strike against Brazil in the quarterfinals as their best moment. They eventually ran out 2:1 winners and advanced to the semis.
Worse World Cup moment: The entire 2022 world Cup was a nightmare. Belgium entered the tournament as the 2nd place side and ended up eliminated in the group stage after a nil nil draw against Croatia.
Players to watch:
Main man:
In a team littered with stars it is difficult to choose. I have opted for only one person.
Jeremy Doku: I genuinely believe that if Doku could score he would be the best winger in the world. Well. He can score now. The man city winger will be the cog of this team. Dribbling, creativity and now finishing. There is nothing he lacks. If he carries on this form into the world Cup expect magic from him. I expect great things.
Kevin de Bruyne: It will be a disservice to even discuss his qualities. What he brings to the team and football is clear for all to see. He will still be instrumental despite a poor league season by his standards.
Romelu Lukaku: I cannot ignore a player who has 90 international goals in 125 appearances. Lukaku is lethal for Belgium and he will turn up.
Expectations: The expectations are a bit low this time. The golden generation achieved nothing. This is a basic rebuild. A quarterfinal stage will still be expected.
My personal prediction: I have 4 major teams I think will win it and Belgium is among. I believe under Rudi Garcia they have the right coach that can blend the attacking talent and defensive organization. Write them off at your peril.
World cup chances: Wouldn't surprise me if they win the world cup. They're favourites for me. One of four I believe will win the tournament.
Mexico:
Nickname: El Tri.
Personal nickname: The Arsenal of international football ( we will get to that later)
Group: A ( South Africa, Czechia and South Korea)
Opening match: Against South Africa.
Head coach: Javier Aguirre. This is his third stint with the Mexico national team. He is to retire immediately after the world Cup with Mexico and Barcelona Legend Rafael Marquez to take over.
Formation: conventional 4:3:3. A pivot and two dynamic midfielders. Old fashion wing plays is to be expected.
Pattern of play: pragmatism. Aguirre will always prioritize defensive stability over attacking. Expect crosses into the box for Jimenez. He is very pivotal in this system because he is basically a target man. The midfield press will be relentless. You have to be extremely fit to play for this current Mexico side. I expect very low scoring affairs in their games
Best world Cup finish: Quarterfinals. Appeared in the Quarters in 1986 and 1970.
Oddity: They suffered an unwanted world Cup streak between 1994-2018 when they were eliminated in the second round in 7 straight tournament. The people of Mexico calls it "La Maldiciรณn del Quinto Partido" ( the curse of the fifth game).
Best world Cup moment: There are so many to choose from but we have to give it to Manuel Negrete's scissors kick against Bulgaria in 1986 in the Aztec stadium. The goal was later named in a poll the greatest world Cup goal of all time.
Worse moment: Losing to eternal Rivals 2:0 in the quarterfinals against eternal rivals U. S. A in the 2002 world Cup might be the most heartbreaking moment in Mexican football history.
Players to watch out:
Raul Jimenez. We cannot rule out the veteran. This is most certainly his last world Cup and the scoring burden will be on his shoulders.
Obed Vargas: they will turn to him for much needed creativity in the midfield. The Young ATM midfielder carries a lot of responsibility for his national team. Although just 20, everything in the midfield goes through him.
Edson Alvarez: the captain of the team and very instrumental. His leadership abilities are something that Mexico will lean on.
Guillemo Ochoa: I was reluctant to add him as he is no longer first or second choice. The unfortunate injury to Luis Malagon ( Mexico's first choice keeper) has opened up the spot. I fully expect Raul Rangel to be the number 1 keeper but you cannot discard Ochoa starting.
Player to keep an eye on: I cannot see beyond Obed Vargas. His industry in that midfield will be heavily relied on. Keep an eye on him this tournament. Mexico plays better when he does.
Expectations: the home faithful would be expecting a quarterfinals place at the least. The general feeling is that this could be the Mexican team that finally breaks the duck.
Unique skill set: they're basically the Arsenal of international football. Expect all manners of unique set piece ideas. In fact, under Aguirre set piece amounts for over 35% of their goals. They're the set piece merchant of international football. Corners, free kicks and throwings close to goal will be synchronized for maximum effects. If you love a good set piece, tune in for their games.
My prediction: a team that will be backed by passionate support. I expect them to top group A. I do believe that the curse of the 5th game is set to continue. I predict a second round exit.

NETHERLANDS.
Nickname: Oranje( The orange).
Personal nickname: Center back heaven.
Head Coach: Ronald Koeman. He returned for his second spell for Netherlands in 2023. As a player Koeman was renowned for scoring over 200 goals despite being a defender.
Group F(Japan, Sweden and Tunisia).
World rankings: 7th.
Formation: 4:3:3. It can quickly change to a 4:2:3:1 depending on the in game situation.
Pattern of play: Ronald Koeman is a very pragmatic manager. The Netherlands are very strong defensively and will start the build up from the back. The center halfs will split up. They would be in control of the ball most of the time. I expect an overload on the left side with Gakpo playing a vital role.
Best world cup finish: Three times runner up ( 1974,1978 and 2010).
Team captain: Virgil Van Dijk.
Best world cup moment: When you have gotten to the final three times you would have many great moments to pick from.
Dennis Berkamp magical goal in the 89th minute against Argentina in the quarterfinals takes it for me. A 60 yard pass expertly brought down by Dennis before taking an immaculate dribble and outside of the foot finish. Maybe one of the greatest moment in world cup history.
Worse world cup moment: When you lose 3 finals sad moments will be plenty. The 2010 final is perhaps the saddest. The Robben miss in the 62nd minute will go down as my personal worse moment. Robben scores that 1 -1 against Casillas and Netherlands would have had a world cup trophy by now.
Players to watch:
Main man:
Cody Gakpo: The Liverpool forward is a completely different player for the Netherlands and my main man. He will play a part in majority of their goals. Expect most things to go through his left wing. If he delivers, they deliver.
Virgil Van Dijk: A boring but obvious pick. The man mountain. The Netherland leader and best defender. A threat on both ends of the box. Capable of scoring the odd goal and very useful when it comes to penalty shootouts.
Memphis Depay: The all time Dutch leading scorer. Another obvious pick. He will probably lead the line ahead of Malen. He will be on penalties and set pieces while also dropping deep to link up play.
Expectations: They will be expected to get to the quarters at least.
My prediction: They will not live up to expectations. I expect a shock round of 32 or 16 loss.
