When you formant shift a waveform by zooming into it, it causes the looping point to break, so you apply a mask/window to it, which fixes that but causes fluttering/rm!
Overlap-add reduces this flutter by layering 2 smaller waveform grains to fill the empty space from the mask!

Those are some crazy beautiful overtones you are achieving here
On a more technical note, this technique creates 2 windowed copies of the wavetable with different phase offsets, which allows for smooth formant shifting without any clicks or flutter! 🥳 It's effectively a high quality formant shifter!

tysm! 🥳
Big fan of @Naskomusic new Serpent for ducking with heavier sounds, all producers should be trying it (and its free!)
Not in serpents case!🥳
The main reason is that the isolated region is only used to subtract from the dry signal when ducking occurs, which circumvents the general prerequisites for noticeable pre-ringing (like in classic band-splitting with f.e. changed dynamic relationships)

Tää on periaattees jatko-osa siihen. Alataajuuksien erillinen sidechainaus on nyt linear phase ja RM:n määrää ja muotoa saa hienosäädettyä enemmän. Esim. RM smoothing on täs parempi ja Naskon käsialaa. Asetusten puolella mm. pre-fade envelopea saa muotoiltua halutessa
I tend to release new patches when everyone"s already asleep so HELLOOO SERPENT just got an upgrade! 🥳
SERPENT BETA 2 W/ @borraxca JUST DROPPED 🐍
New Linear phase SUB Ducking, SYNC Mode, GLOBAL Ducking Amount, RM Inflation/Deflation, RM Stereo Linking, Envelope FADE-IN Adjuster & Lots of polishing🐍🥳
