The SSCI report seems to confirm two things we knew: 1. Trump solicited, welcomed, and benefited from Russian interference. 2. There wasn't sufficient evidence to charge anyone with a crime. The fact we've let 2. become the excuse to ignore 1. was and is a national failure.

The animating premise of a newly revealed DHS memo: The threat to monuments and statues is a homeland security threat warranting intelligence analysis and collection. That premise, @Steve_Vladeck and @benjaminWittes argue, is unpersuasive and alarming:lawfareblog.com/dhs-authoriz…

Apparently humans need four hugs a day for survival, eight hugs a day for maintenance, and twelve hugs a day for growth. This pandemic is trying to kill us all.

In Donald Trump's America, Roger Stone is rewarded for lying and Lt. Col. Vindman is punished for telling the truth.

1. I have trouble believing it, but as someone who got the presidential daily briefing for more than 7 years the idea that a POTUS wouldn’t be briefed on a Russian bounty on US troops is even more alarming.

If you’re appalled by the shameless, disloyal derelict in the White House and his indifference to the murder of American soldiers, then please send this @ProjectLincoln ad to everyone you know. – at Washington, DC
Putin paid a bounty to kill American soldiers. @realDonaldTrump knew about it but did nothing. How can Trump lead America when he can't even defend it?

Trump stood in front of West Point graduates while knowing that Russia had bounties out on American soldiers.

Trump has lashed out at many people, but there’s always been a special vitriol reserved for the women who’ve stood up to him—from Megyn Kelly and Carly Fiorina to Nancy Pelosi and Nicolle Wallace. I guess, like other insecure men, Trump’s particularly threatened by strong women.
She was thrown off The View like a dog, Zero T.V. Personas. Now Wallace is a 3rd rate lapdog for Fake News MSDNC (Concast). Doesn’t have what it takes!

For all the weariness and sorrow, you have made it to May, a little farther down the path and a little nearer whatever lies ahead.

1/ Why did Iran militarily escalate in the Gulf lately? Shooting down a US drone, seizing tankers, bombing Saudi oil infrastructure? It wanted to internationalise the conflict. The Strait of Hormuz is where most of the world's shipping transits. The US chose not to go there.
