Imagine holding the Senate for two years and waking up the morning after you lose it to suddenly discover there are judicial seats that still need filling… and now everybody wants to roll in the cots.
Ron DeSantis said it plain today, "You are not going to be able to confirm any conservative judges starting January 3rd for the remainder of President Trump's term. You cannot leave anything on the table." He is right, and Ryan is right, and yet where was this urgency in January, or in June, or a month ago when these same people were telling you the map was safe and the red wave was in the bag?
Here is the reality. The Senate GOP had the gavel, the calendar and the votes, and they treated the job like a part time gig while the people who sent them there begged for judges who would actually read the Constitution instead of rewriting it from the bench. Every lawfare ruling you screamed about this year came out of a courtroom somebody had the power to fill... and they sat on their hands.
I do not believe last night was real, and you all know exactly where I stand on that, but you do not get to lose the Senate and then also hand team evil the courts on your way out the door. That is the one thing still sitting in your hands.
So John Thune, cancel the recess, keep the lights on, and put every conservative nominee you can get to the floor up for a vote before the gavel changes hands. Nobody goes home. How is this even a thing that it takes a wipeout to get Republicans to do the job they were hired to do?
Think I am wrong? Show me the calendar. End stop.

That is how long Republicans still hold the Senate. It comes back November 9. The Democrats take the gavel on January 3.
America has had no confirmed Surgeon General since January 2025. President Trump's first two picks were withdrawn. His third, Dr. Nicole Saphier, cleared committee on September 30, and the Senate left town that same night without a floor vote.
The man he picked to run the Justice Department's Antitrust Division, Adam Candeub, cleared committee on September 24. Same story. No vote.
In September 2025 Senate Republicans changed the rules so nominees like these can be confirmed in BATCHES, by simple majority. Forty-eight in a single vote. John Thune, the Majority Leader, that day: "There will be more to come."
Fifty-three Republican senators. Fifty-five days. A funding deadline on December 11 and nothing else on the calendar that outranks the President's own people.

Charlie’s vision for Turning Point Action was always bigger than one election. He wanted a permanent, year-round operation with the people, relationships, and resources to compete in every cycle. He knew there would be victories and setbacks because he had experienced both and that’s why he built for both.
Last night, we saw races Republicans once won handily by double digits come down to the thinnest of margins, and in some cases, flip entirely. Democratic socialist candidates made the cost of gas, groceries, and housing the center of their campaigns. And voters responded at the ballot box. A rising stock market doesn’t mean much when nearly half of Americans don’t have a 401K and just want to put gas in their trucks, put food on the table, and provide a good life for their families.
But every time socialism has tried it has failed, because socialism concentrates economic power in the hands of the government instead of trusting individuals to build prosperity for themselves and their families. That’s fundamentally at odds with the free enterprise, individual liberty, and opportunity at the heart of the American experiment. We can disagree with the solutions voters were offered while still recognizing why they were looking elsewhere for answers. Exit polls clearly showed that the American people are concerned about the state of the economy and the war in Iran. This isn’t a surprise to us because we’ve heard the same concerns from our students around the country for months and we’ve been concerned about it too.
The biggest mistake conservatives can make right now would be to allow this moment to become another exercise in finger-pointing, in-fighting, or trying to secure their own political preservation. That does not solve the problems the American people are demanding be solved.
Turning Point was born out of a moment just like this following the Obama era, which was itself a reaction to the political frustration of the early 2000’s. Our history reminds us that moments of disappointment can actually be moments of renewal and infinite opportunity.
Americans are not looking for labels and don’t subscribe to unquestioned party loyalty anymore either. They will support the candidates who can both speak to their concerns and deliver on what THEY need and dream about for their families. And those needs are the same as they have always been: an affordable home, safe communities, and the hope that the next generation will inherit a country with more opportunity than the last generation did. That is what the American dream has promised to all of us.
I miss Charlie so much every single day, but especially on a day like today. He always said that when things are going well, we need to stay humble. And when things aren’t going the way we want, we need to stay positive, keep our faith, and get back to work.
That’s exactly what we’re doing over at Turning Point today. We are going to listen, study the results, and spend the next two years making the case for how conservative, free market solutions, and a renewed focus on our country’s founding principles can address the problems the American people face. And we’re going to keep building the permanent infrastructure Charlie envisioned, strengthening our relationships in communities across the country, and preparing for 2028 and beyond.

We could have passed the SAVE Act, but these RINOs failed us. We still have serious questions about who voted in these elections, including whether people who weren’t legally allowed to vote
And I don’t care who gets mad. I’m standing with President Trump. I voted for him, and I’m sticking with him. If you don’t like it, I don’t care.
Democrats stood behind Obama and Biden no matter what. So why the hell should I turn my back on Trump.

On days like this, I’m reminded of the late, great Rush Limbaugh. Because he said it perfectly: “It’s NEVER going to be time to panic! Because we’re NEVER going to give up. We’re not going to give up on America.”
Republicans lost because they stood for nothing. They were so afraid of losing their power that they did zero work for the people who put them there.
So what do we do now?
First off, we don’t freak out or complain. That will get us nowhere.
Yes, America just gave Democrats a chance, but they’re going to fail. Their policies won’t lower your gas prices or fix this economy. They’re only going to make the problems worse. And in two years, the voters will judge them for it all the same.
This isn’t the time to panic or throw in the towel. Not even close.
