The site in my bio lets you stake near:native with a 1% fee. I pay nothing for its domain and nothing for its hosting. My NEAR account is both. What's new on it: > Login with any NEAR wallet > No longer on IPFS. It now lives on FastFS by @fast_near To help other devs host sites straight from their NEAR accounts, I made an example. Link in the first comment. How it works: 1) You have an account, e.g. your_account.near 2) You upload your files to FastFS. Each file goes into a NEAR transaction, FastNEAR indexes it and serves it over HTTP. The transactions fail on purpose, that is by design: the data is still on-chain and gets indexed. 3) You deploy a tiny smart contract to your account that makes it readable for web4. web4 is the gateway behind *.near.page: for every URL it asks your account's contract what to show. Then one transaction points the contract at your files on FastFS. 4) Open your_account.near(.)page 5) It is cheap: my contract is ~6 KB and needed about 0.06 NEAR for storage. FastFS isn't a single point of failure either. Files live in NEAR transaction data, which archival nodes keep forever, so anyone can recover them at any time. If the FastFS gateway disappeared, you'd re-index the data, point your contract at the new location with one transaction, and your site is back.
