I was proud to cast my vote this morning for the Nebraska I know we can be.
One where hardworking Nebraskans get a fair shot, our small towns get their turn, and nobody has to wonder where their tax dollars went.
Polls are open all day, Nebraska. I'd be honored to earn your vote.

My dad taught me to love God, love your family, and love your neighbor. Period. Not just if they look like you, pray like you, or vote like you.
That’s how I was raised, and it’s how I’ll govern. Here’s why I’m asking Nebraskans of every party for their vote: omaha.com/opinion/column/art…

the 4th quarter is so unnecessary in football
it’s just bonus minutes for the inferior team to make up ground
like extra credit in junior high
sad to win like that honestly

Today, we honor the service of Corporal Niels Iver Qvistgaard, who joined the U.S. Marine Corps to fight for the United States in Korea while still a Danish citizen. He made the ultimate sacrifice 74 years ago, today, and we shall not forget him.

Hey, let's rename another body of water.

Retirement is a richly-earned milestone for a colleague and friend to all who’s been with the OWH nearly 40 years.
And yet the news is bittersweet because you can’t ask for a better journalist, newsroom presence, advice-giver, teammate and person than Mike Patterson.
#nebpreps Life update here … I’m planning to retire this summer (mid-July or so). Thanks to all of the coaches, athletic directors, players and fans I’ve crossed paths with in my 38 (!) years at The World-Herald. It’s been my honor. 😀

Extreme drought in much of Nebraska is resulting in low water levels, as seen here in the Platte River near Venice after the state's warmest winter since the Dust Bowl.
