You’re the Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, not the Trade Secretary. You can’t sign a trade deal with Taiwan or anyone else, that’s reserved to Westminster. You signed a non-binding MOU and rebranded it a “landmark trade agreement” for the gullible. Classic Reform: inflate a photo-op into a lie and hope the lazy and uninformed never check. Disgusting
This morning, I signed a landmark trade agreement with Tainan in Taiwan, strengthening ties between our regions and creating new opportunities for trade, investment and innovation. Greater Lincolnshire has a huge amount to offer, and this agreement is another step towards showing the world what we do best. 🇹🇼 🇬🇧

UK mayors cannot sign binding international trade agreements (reserved for central UK government); official descriptions refer to this as a non-binding MOU for local cooperation, not a landmark trade deal. greaterlincolnshire-cca.gov.uk/news/article/6… citp.ac.uk/publications/t…

Grandpa got lost again... but Secret Service saved the day and directed him back to his car.
CHAOS AT THE RALLY - Trump walked right past The Beast; he clearly didn't want to take the ride to Air Force One. He was surrounded by secret service and directed back to the car. Same exact thing happened yesterday. WHY WON'T THEY LET HIM WALK LONG DISTANCES? 🤔

Trump: we are running low on ammo not because of my war on Iran but because Biden gave “massive amounts” of Tomahawks to Ukraine. The U.S. didn’t supply a single Tomahawk to Ukraine.

Two thirds of Londoners now say they would vote to rejoin the EU. Brexit was supposed to settle Britain’s European question for a generation. Instead, ten years on, public opinion is moving in the opposite direction and the economic costs are becoming harder to ignore. The Brexit cat is well and truly out of the bag.

Reform’s Robert Jenrick said his party would use “lethal force” against people crossing the channel in small boats. This inflammatory and inhumane rhetoric does not reflect the values of the people of Wales. We have a duty as politicians to call out such dangerous language.

In 2016 Nigel Farage said that leaving the EU would mean fewer (white) migrants from the European Union. Suggesting we would have more (black and brown) migrants from Commonwealth/other countries. So when Brexiters are upset at th emigration mix, not only were the told this, but they voted for it.

This video is extraordinary to watch again now. In 2019, @JMPSimor explained to @mrjamesob the constitutional paradox at the heart of Brexit: the referendum was advisory, so the courts would not quash the result, even though the legal challenge argued it had been tainted by proven unlawful campaigning. She told @LBC that, had the referendum been legally binding, the result could have been set aside. So Britain was left with this absurd position: The referendum was not legally binding enough to be invalidated but it was treated politically as binding enough to take us out of the European Union. And that was not the only unresolved constitutional issue. My own 2018 judicial review, Webster v Secretary of State for Exiting the EU, challenged the missing Article 50(1) decision, the lawful decision to withdraw that had to precede notification. Parliament expressly authorised notification under Article 50(2), but never expressly enacted that antecedent decision. The courts refused permission in both cases. Now we are being told by the Prime Minister @andyburnham that Russia interfered in the 2016 referendum. This changes the context again. It does not automatically undo Brexit. But it makes one thing impossible to avoid: Britain needs a statutory public inquiry into the referendum, the intelligence, and the Article 50 decision-making process. We need documents. Witnesses under oath. The Cabinet record. The intelligence assessments. The legal trail. Because ten years on, the question is no longer simply whether Brexit was right or wrong. It is whether the British public and Parliament were ever told the full truth about how it happened.

It’s insane that Trump signed the Lindsey Graham Act to sanction countries buying Russian oil, just to turn around and buy Russian oil himself

Typical MAGA interview - MAGA: “He’s for the people, he’s for America, it’s just that simple…” Interviewer: “The right thing about what?” MAGA: “What he should be doing in leadership…” Interviewer: “Name 3 things that he’s doing right” MAGA: “Uhhh…I don’t need to name them like….” “Just like they’re self evident like…” “Uhh…what he does…” “He just….” Interviewer: “Name 3” MAGA: “Uhh….” Truly a brain dead fucking cult.

In June 2018, @peterjukes & I obtained cache of emails that revealed Banks had relationship with Russian ambassador. As I detail here, what shocked me most was the apparent coordination of social media messaging. And I say he lied. Four times. theguardian.com/uk-news/2018…
