Summary of what's happening in World right now #WW3 possibly? | October 21. A NATO power just entered the Gulf war: Britain will deploy RAF Typhoon fighters to defend Saudi Arabia from Houthi missiles & drones — going beyond refuelling & equipment to actual combat jets in the sky. London says they won't strike inside Yemen. The catch: Typhoons can stop drones & cruise missiles, but NOT the faster ballistic missiles getting through. When a European air force deploys to defend a Gulf kingdom, the war has outgrown the region that started it. Trump pushes Ukraine toward a deal — on Moscow's terms: US envoy Steve Witkoff is carrying an updated proposal straight to Putin, after talks with Zelensky & European leaders in Oslo. Trump has already lifted sanctions on Russian diesel. Zelensky wants a face-to-face with Putin — which Moscow rejects — & offered to pause strikes on Russian refineries if Russia does the same. The outline of a settlement is forming; whether Kyiv shapes it is the open question. Iran is stalling — and it's telling you why: Iranian officials say Tehran is deliberately dragging out talks with Washington to deny Trump a win before the 3 Nov midterms. The pressure cutting the other way: Iran's inflation hit 73.6% in September & its currency is collapsing. A nation negotiating from strength abroad & crisis at home. NATO moves into the Black Sea: The alliance is surging patrol aircraft, radar, drones & intel teams after a wave of attacks on merchant ships off Romania & Bulgaria — 5+ vessels hit in two weeks, 23 sailors dead or missing. Romania has logged 35 unauthorised drone incursions this year, up from 9 in all of 2025. The sea war is lapping at NATO's own shores. The Starlink mystery deepens: Per a WSJ report, Elon Musk ordered restrictions on the Starlink service Ukraine's military relies on — disrupting attack & air-defence drones from 14 Oct. Trump says he doesn't know who ordered it. The Pentagon says it issued no directive. Musk points to the US military & President. Everyone's in the room; no one's holding the switch. Ebola crosses another border: Nigeria has confirmed its first case of this outbreak — a traveller from Uganda via eastern Congo. The outbreak that began in Congo in May has now reached Kenya & Nigeria: 9,500+ infections, 4,600+ deaths, and a fatality rate nearing 50%. Africa's CDC calls it the most geographically widespread Bundibugyo outbreak on record. A health emergency outrunning the headlines. Alberta chooses Canada: In a referendum on starting an independence process, ~75% of Albertans voted to stay in Canada. PM Carney called it a vote for unity. The separatists vowed to continue — but for now, the map holds.
Summary of what's happening in World right now #WW3 possibly? | October 20. Trump floats replacing Ukraine's negotiator — meaning Zelensky: The US President said it "may be time for someone other than Zelensky" to negotiate for Kyiv — days after proposing a Trump–Putin–Xi summit that would exclude Ukraine entirely. First sideline the leader, then the country. Kyiv reported 3 killed in overnight strikes & says it got no warning. Trump's own verdict on Russia's war: "fine." Iran is accused of running out the clock — on purpose: Iranian officials reportedly say Tehran is prolonging talks with Washington to influence the 3 Nov US midterms — betting a distracted, election-focused White House won't restart the war. Meanwhile Iran claims it downed a US drone over the Strait of Hormuz, & Lavrov met Iran's President in Tehran. Diplomacy as a stalling weapon. The number that reaches your fuel tank: Brent crude has pushed above $110 — its highest since May — as the Gulf crisis grinds on. For India, which imports most of its oil through this region, a war 2,000 km away is a petrol-pump number at home. Secret visit, loud signal: US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth made an unannounced trip to Israel to meet Netanyahu — days before Israel's 27 Oct election & amid fears of a renewed Iran confrontation. Separately, Germany summoned Iran's ambassador over alleged assassination plots against pro-Israel figures on its soil. The Gulf war freezes the Gulf's showcase: Saudi Arabia has postponed its flagship Future Investment Initiative — the "Davos in the Desert" — from this month to 2027, after deadly Houthi attacks. When a kingdom delays the event meant to project stability, the instability is the message. Europe's cost-of-living fire spreads: France has imposed overnight curfews in Paris, Nice, Lyon & parts of Gironde after days of riots & looting. Albania's anti-government protests hit day 7 — a fire reportedly reached the Supreme Court. The unrest is about prices & housing, not politics — which makes it harder to switch off. Two for the record books: Japan launched MMX — the first mission ever to collect samples from a moon of Mars (Phobos), aiming to return them to Earth by 2031. And China's satellite internet reached the Arctic, Antarctica & the Tibetan Plateau for the first time — quietly extending Beijing's digital reach to the ends of the earth.

India just flew a solar-powered aircraft to the edge of space — and kept it there. A HAPS (High-Altitude Platform) demonstrator flew at ~12 km over Pokhran. The goal: pseudo-satellites that stay aloft for 30–45 DAYS on sunlight alone, watching borders & relaying signals — at a fraction of a satellite's cost. A spy satellite you can't shoot down easily, launch cheaply, and land to reuse. That's the idea. The future of surveillance may not orbit. It may just… hover. #MakeInIndia

The Indian Navy is studying a quietly radical idea. Arm its P-8I maritime patrol aircraft — which already hunt submarines across the ocean — with loitering munitions. Turn the plane that FINDS the target into the plane that STRIKES it. No handoff. No delay. The sensor becomes the shooter, extending reach hundreds of km beyond the fleet. It's still just a study. But it follows the clearest rule of modern war: whoever sees first and shoots first, wins. @indiannavy #IndianNavy

🇮🇳 While the world watches cheap drones overwhelm air defences, India is quietly building a shield for them. Project Kusha — India's homegrown long-range air-defence system — is designed to intercept threats at THREE layers: ▪ ~150 km ▪ ~250 km ▪ ~350–400 km That last figure matters: it rivals the S-400 & puts India in the tiny club of nations building their own multi-layer missile shield from scratch. Buying a shield protects you. Building one means no one can switch it off. #AatmanirbharBharat

Two neighbours. Two very different missile bets. 🇮🇳 India: BrahMos being stretched toward 800 km, Pralay (150–500 km) already in service, and BrahMos-2 — a hypersonic aiming beyond Mach 6. 🇵🇰 Pakistan: a new Army Rocket Force built around the Fatah family (~400 km), with an extended-range version tested this month. The gap isn't just range. It's hypersonics — weapons so fast that no current defence can reliably stop them. Whoever fields them first rewrites the regional equation. The next arms race isn't about bigger. It's about faster. #DefenceNews

🇮🇳 A fact that should make every Indian stand a little taller: India is one of only FOUR nations on earth that has ever shot down a satellite in space. The entire club: 🇺🇸 United States 🇷🇺 Russia 🇨🇳 China 🇮🇳 India That's it. Not the UK. Not France. Not Japan. Not Germany. On 27 March 2019, in under 3 minutes, an Indian missile climbed 283 km into space and destroyed a live satellite travelling at ~27,000 km/h. Mission Shakti. Fully indigenous. Built by DRDO. Hitting a bullet with a bullet is the standard metaphor for hard. This was hitting a bullet, with a bullet, in orbit — from the ground. Why it matters: in modern war, satellites are the eyes, ears & nerves of every military. The nation that can blind an adversary's satellites holds a card almost no one else on the planet can play. India built that capability itself — and joined a club the richest, oldest powers never entered. Some races, you don't just finish. You arrive at the front. 🇮🇳 #MissionShakti

🇮🇳 A quiet fact that should make every Indian sit up: India is now one of only a handful of nations on earth attempting to build its own fighter jet engine from scratch. The club that has ever done it: 🇺🇸 United States 🇬🇧 United Kingdom 🇷🇺 Russia 🇫🇷 France 🇨🇳 China (still maturing) That's it. Not Japan. Not Germany. Not Israel. The jet engine is the single hardest machine in military aviation — the one technology no country will sell you, because whoever controls it controls what you're allowed to fly. India has failed at this before. Kaveri stalled for years. But the dry engine just cleared trials at 48.5 kN, and a 120 kN fighter-grade programme is now moving. The finish line is still years away. But the fact that India is even on this track puts it in rarer company than nuclear powers or spacefaring nations. Some races matter more for who's running than who's winning. #AatmanirbharBharat

This looks like an admin reshuffle. It is actually a reading of where India expects the next attack to land. From 1 November, CISF restructures into dedicated sectors — Power (split into two), Coal, Steel, Petroleum & Natural Gas, and East & West Coast Ports among them. Why this matters beyond the org chart: The threats defining 2026 are not soldiers at a border. They are drones over oil infrastructure, cyber intrusions into power grids, and sabotage of ports & energy nodes — the exact targets being hit across the Gulf & the Black Sea right now. A force that guards 350+ installations is specialising precisely where modern conflict has moved: the civilian infrastructure that keeps a country running. The frontline of the next war may be a substation, a refinery or a container terminal. India is reorganising to defend it. @CISFHQrs @HMOIndia #CISF
CISF Strengthens Critical Infrastructure Security Through Functional Reorganisation With the concurrence of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the revised functional structure of CISF will come into effect from 1st November 2026, aligning sectoral supervision with the specialised security requirements of critical infrastructure. The reorganisation introduces dedicated sectors for Power-I, Power-II, Coal, Steel, Petroleum & Natural Gas, West Coast Ports, East Coast Ports, and Government Buildings, Museums & Monuments & MRTS. The initiative aims to strengthen sector specific expertise, operational oversight, specialised training, uniformity in security practices and coordination with stakeholder organisations, enhancing CISF’s preparedness to address evolving security challenges. #NationFirst #NationalSecurity @HMOIndia @PIB_India @mygovindia @DDNewslive

🇮🇳✈️ INDIA’S HOMEGROWN JET ENGINE TAKES A MAJOR STEP FORWARD! The indigenous Kaveri Dry Engine, developed by DRDO’s GTRE, has cleared high-altitude and flight trials in Russia, achieving 48.5 kN of dry thrust—exceeding its 46 kN target. The next steps are certification, integration and further flight testing for India’s planned Ghatak stealth UCAV. A significant milestone in India’s pursuit of aerospace self-reliance. 🇮🇳 #IndianDefence

Pakistan's ISI has reportedly raised its India-focused espionage budget to ₹1,300 crore — with Navy & Air Force personnel as priority targets. The context: 18 arrests in the Visakhapatnam Naval Dockyard case, 13 of them serving Navy personnel. The lesson for every person in uniform & every defence employee: the approach rarely looks like espionage. It looks like friendship, flattery & money. Report the approach. That is the entire counterintelligence manual in one line. #CounterIntelligence

Daily Israel-Iran War Brief 17th October 2026: - Israel has begun sharing intelligence on Houthi forces in Yemen with Saudi Arabia through US mediation. Riyadh requested US assistance, Washington relayed it to Jerusalem & Israel agreed — it regards the Houthis as a threat of its own. - Trump issued an executive order implementing the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia & Iran Act of 2026 — waiving tariffs of up to 500% on Russian goods & the duties & sanctions targeting purchasers of Russian energy. - Iran's Ambassador & Chargé d'Affaires to the UN, Gholamhossein Darzi, told a UNSC meeting on the Middle East that Iran remains committed to upholding the safety & security of international navigation. - CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper: the naval blockade has rendered ~$25 billion in Iranian oil exports unusable & interagency efforts have frozen $350 million in cryptocurrency assets. - IRGC Navy says a second oil supertanker caught fire early this morning after striking a naval mine — carrying 2 million+ barrels of crude, with radar & positioning systems switched off, attempting an unauthorized route through the Strait of Hormuz.
Daily Israel-Iran War Brief 16th October 2026: - Iran has reportedly restored its operational missile-launcher force to at least 400 units — approaching the prewar total of ~420 held before Operation Roaring Lion — through recovery of buried systems & rebuilt production capacity. - IRGC-N surveillance teams identified a violating oil tanker that caught fire in a restricted area of the Sea of Oman. Per Iranian accounts, the vessel had switched off its tracking systems & was attempting to transit the zone. - Iran's ambassador to Russia said continued US use of force & ultimatums will produce no results & will only complicate the region's situation. - Houthi strike hit Maashiq Palace in Aden, seat of Yemen's internationally recognised government — 5 killed, 16+ injured. PM Shaya al-Zindani unhurt. The group says it also struck a Saudi military operations HQ in the city. - Air India has cancelled all flights to & from Riyadh, Dammam & Jeddah until 20 October due to the evolving situation in Saudi Arabia.

Putin wants to destroy us. He doesn't respect us, our sovereignty and territorial integrity. He really thinks that we are not a country, not a nation. Do you really believe that just the eastern part of our country will be enough for him? Then why did he go for Kyiv when the full-scale invasion began? Is that Donbas? No, it’s the capital. Without the capital, there is no state. And what will happen afterwards? On what borders will he stay? If now he's testing all these drones against European, even NATO countries? They are not loud for now. They don't want to escalate because they have one Russian drone, two drones, ten. But you will be very loud when there will be ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and thousands of drones. We had one thousand drones yesterday. But the American side said that it's difficult to speak with Zelenskyy. It's less difficult to manage with Putin. Of course. From a conversation with media representatives in Brussels. (3/3)

Long before RAW or IB existed, ancient Indian statecraft developed a systematic theory of intelligence. The Arthashastra, attributed to Kautilya, famously notes that a king sees through his spies. But its information network did far more than collect facts- it actively managed perceptions and altered strategic outcomes. 1/

Another strike on a Russian oil refinery in Omsk – one of the major refineries – as well as on the Ukhta oil refinery, 1,900 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border. The target in Ukhta was hit by An-196 RS drones, which can fly about 2,500 kilometers, while FP-6 drones (modified FP-1s) were used against the Omsk refinery the day before. We continue to respond to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine, and we’re doing so with high precision. Another data center was hit as well – our symmetrical response. An important display of accuracy by our warriors. Glory to Ukraine!
