HELLO WIN COLUMN! The Rangers FINALLY have a winning record and sole possession of first place in the AL West following a 6-2 win over the Blue Jays! This game had to be won by the bullpen after Cal Quantrill left after just 12 pitches and 1.1 innings. Jordan Montgomery ate up 3.2 innings, allowing only one baserunner on a walk. Nathan Eovaldi pitched the sixth and allowed two hits and a run before recording a strikeout to end the inning. Robert Garcia allowed a solo homer in the seventh to cut Toronto’s deficit to 6-2. The Rangers led wire to wire after Josh Jung’s solo homer gave them the lead in the first. Two more runs scored in the second on a throwing error and a wild pitch. Wyatt Langford doubled to left to add a run in the sixth before Danny Jansen brought home another on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch. Evan Carter then hit a ball to center, allowing Langford to leap over the catcher and score the Rangers’ sixth run. Elsewhere, Atlanta leads Houston 6-3, thanks to a grand slam by Ronald Acuña Jr. The soon-to-be Astros’ loss and Texas’ win put the Rangers alone atop the AL West. The series ends Sunday at 1:35 p.m. with Jacob deGrom looking to complete the sweep of the Blue Jays.

The Texas Rangers are your first half AL West champions!
