📖 NIKO: THE WOLF OF BASE
Chapter 6 — The First Wallet (2/2)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A chance.
A community.
A joke with teeth.
NIKO looked at the faces around the fire. Some strong. Some nervous. Some already calculating whether they believed enough to stay.
He could have promised them riches.
The Rug Fields had shown him how easy that would be.
He could have said the chart would rise forever, that every holder would win, that nobody would be left behind. He could have wrapped greed in noble words and called it destiny.
Instead, he told them the truth.
“NIKO is a pack for those tired of being hunted.”
The chat stopped.
NIKO continued.
“We are not here because the trenches are safe. We are here because they are not. We are not here because every candle will be green. We are here because red candles reveal who is real. We are not here to worship a chart. We are here to build something the chart must eventually respect.”
The blue fire rose behind him.
“If you want empty promises, there are many doors. If you want a pack, stay.”
Nobody typed for several seconds.
Then PawOne responded.
“Diamond Paws forever.”
The phrase moved through the room again.
Not as spam.
As a vow.
One by one, the others repeated it.
“Diamond Paws forever.”
“Diamond Paws forever.”
“Diamond Paws forever.”
NIKO lowered his head.
The first wallet had arrived.
The first root had taken hold.
And somewhere beneath the Base chain, something began to grow.
🐺 Diamond Paws forever.
📖 NIKO: THE WOLF OF BASE
Chapter 6 — The First Wallet (1/2)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
When NIKO returned from the Rug Fields, the pack was smaller than he remembered.
That was the way of the trenches.
Some came for the howl.
Some came for the green candle they imagined would follow.
Some came because a friend sent a contract address and said, “This one might be different.”
But when the chart did not immediately explode, when the room did not fill with influencers, when the first silence returned, many drifted away.
NIKO did not chase them.
A wolf does not beg the forest to stay full.
He returned to the edge of the digital fire and sat in the blue glow. His paws were marked with ash from the Rug Fields. His white chest still carried the reflection of hidden contracts and broken promises. The flame on his tail burned lower than usual, not weak, but focused.
The chat flickered around him.
A few messages appeared.
“Still early?”
“Anybody here?”
“Dev?”
Then nothing.
NIKO listened to the silence.
This time, it did not feel empty.
It felt like a test.
The old dog had told him that every real pack begins with one true wallet. Not the biggest wallet. Not the loudest. Not the one that buys the most. The first true wallet is the one that understands before the world does.
That kind of wallet does not ask only, “How much can I make?”
It asks, “What are we building?”
NIKO waited.
Hours passed.
In the trenches, hours can feel like years.
Charts moved elsewhere. New coins launched. New promises spread across ToshiMart. Fresh tickers flashed on neon signs. Loud creatures shouted about moons, multipliers, stealth launches, fair launches, relaunches, and second chances.
NIKO’s room stayed quiet.
Then a transaction appeared.
Small.
So small most hunters would have ignored it.
A tiny buy on Base.
Barely enough to move the chart. Barely enough to create noise. The kind of buy whales never notice, but legends remember.
NIKO lifted his head.
A new wallet entered the chat.
The username was simple:
PawOne
No profile picture. No banner. No clout.
Just one message.
“Read the lore. I’m staying.”
NIKO stared at the words.
He had seen bigger buys. He had seen louder arrivals. He had seen wallets enter chats with rockets, fire, and demands for immediate marketing.
This was different.
PawOne did not ask wen moon.
PawOne did not ask wen trending.
PawOne did not ask wen CEX, wen caller, wen burn, wen dev do something.
PawOne said, “I’m staying.”
The old dog appeared beside NIKO, moving quietly.
“There,” he said.
NIKO looked at him.
The old dog nodded toward the message.
“That is not a buyer. That is a root.”
“A root?” NIKO asked.
“The first part of something that grows where no one can see it yet.”
NIKO watched the chat.
A second message appeared from PawOne.
“Diamond Paws isn’t about never selling. It’s about not betraying the pack.”
NIKO’s blue marks pulsed.
The old dog smiled faintly.
“He understands.”
Others began to appear.
The GM holder returned first.
“GM PawOne.”
Then the terrible meme maker.
“Welcome to the pack.”
Then the chart watcher.
“Tiny buy but clean entry.”
Then someone who had been silent for two days typed:
“I’m here too.”
One wallet became two.
Two became five.
Five became a room again.
The fire grew brighter.
NIKO stood.
For the first time, he stepped into the center of the pack, not as a mystery, not as a shadow, not as a creature from the Rug Fields, but as something they could gather around.
PawOne sent another message.
“So what is NIKO?”
The question hung in the air.
Everyone had their own answer.
A meme.
A wolf.
A Base token.
A gamble.
A low cap.
