I’m no historian, but I don’t think Hitler rose to power on the promise of making people equal?

Landon isn't wrong about the problem with coaching. The only thing I disagree is that this is a uniquely American problem. Skipping fundamentals in favor of tactics is a problem probably everywhere in youth soccer. Too many coaches see youth soccer as an opportunity to be Pep.
Youth coaches in America don't focus on the technical side of soccer like coaches do internationally.

A lot of factors contribute to downplaying Iraqi democracy, the big ones being: - the influence of Iran and its paramilitaries; - the widespread corruption; - it would require some reassessment of the American war in Iraq (which many are loathe to do)

There's this guy who used to be in the NFL that was so slow people still to this day make fun of his 40yd dash video. He went on to be the GOAT of the NFL. By the same weird definition of athleticism which would exclude Rodri adb Kane, it would exclude Tom Brady too.
“We just need better athletes.” No. We need to develop better footballers like Rodri and Kane. It’s not an athlete/speed thing.

In reality of course athleticism is a much broader category than just size, speed and strength. Not that Kane or Rodri lack some of those qualities themselves, despite Paul not wanting to admit it. Athleticism includes agility, spatial awareness, limb coordination, and much more.

Yes, the guy that claims his favorite part of the game is that it's popular is definitely the one living it. Lmao
Replying to @NobletStrength
There’s liking it and living it. That’s where we are different so you don’t get it.

Only liking soccer because it's the most popular might actually be the worst reason. Like, that's how people become fair weather fans. Personally, I love soccer because it's free flowing technical and creativity beauty and given the low scoring nature goals in soccer mean more.
Why is soccer so captivating? 1.5 billion people watched the World Cup Final. More than 10 times the Super Bowl audience. Soccer is the only sport where you know the entire planet is locked in at the same time and that shared energy is unique and powerful. It’s authentic. It’s global. It’s the king of sports.

He hit all the talking points and still proved his critics right. People like this will always hate MLS and it's because it's the top American League.
“You only hate MLS because you’re a eurosnob.” No. I dislike it because it’s fake. It’s a product engineered in boardrooms. Expansion teams, manufactured rivalries, designated players, plastic atmosphere. WWE on grass. Authenticity isn’t about marketing. You either have it or you don’t.

This is 100% cope. He flopped and is now making excuses.
🚨🗣 Olivier Giroud on the MLS: "On the football front, it wasn't really for me. For me, the United States is not a football country." Did Giroud expose the MLS? 🇺🇸😱

"I'm a cool American soccer fan that actually says USA sucks and is overrated by FIFA. We should actually be considered much worse!" That's all this is. There isn't any objective reason to believe this 3rd party website is a better metric than the official FIFA rankings.
FIFA inflates the USMNT ranking. They ignore home advantage. Elo accounts for it and ranks us 25th. If we keep playing most friendlies, Gold Cups, and Copa Americas at home, Elo and the world will never respect us. Even our World Cup victories were discounted because we played at home. To beat the world, we need to test ourselves on the road. We are insulated from real competition. eloratings.net/

Ya, I can't say I take this seriously. The idea Greece is better and we are only marginally better than Austrailia is laughable. Also, Paraguay is ranked higher. Lol All I have to say is 4-1. If his subjective opinion is valid, mine is equally as valid.

CLR James acknowledged Garvey's power as an orator, propagandist, mobiliser & his role in putting 'black consciousness" on stage. He wasn't totally dismissive. But he also compared Garvey to Hitler as a racial demagogue & a reactionary.
In any event, Ralph Leonard is being shallow. CLR James admired Garvey and James was no fascist. Context and language are important. Garvey also praised the KKK ironically but you would be a fool to assert that that means that Garvey approved of the KKK's racist terrorism

Admit it, you're offended that Liberia is mentioned in the same breath as Israel due to what Israel signifies out there (outpost of the empire etc). But as a Garveyite (Garvey explicitly invoked the Zionist movement as an inspiration) you know the comparison is too close to home.
They are comparing Liberia with Israel Again. Liberia was not a black Israel. Liberia did not have apartheid laws or expel its native population like Israel did with the Palestinians. Liberia has had native Presidents and Vice Presidents since the 1910s. medium.com/@JabariLamb/false…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Liberia practiced apartheid for a large portion of its history, creating legal barriers between African-American residents and native Africans that resulted in the settler group having systematically greater rights and access to political power. liblaw.org/document/const…

This would be a blowout for the soccer players because soccer players are some of the most well rounded athletes in the world. They have speed, agility, strength, power, and conditioning. Baseball players basically have throwing and catching skill transfer advantage. That's it.
Son has a thought experiment: Who would win a football game, a squad of pro baseball guys, or a squad of pro soccer guys?

Those who spit out "idealist" as a swear word (& don't know what it means) just to advertise how smug they are are even more hilarious.
So-called Marxists endorsing the most idealist notions of a bourgeois revolution will always be hilarious.
