People calling Rudeus a pedophile simply because he retained memories from his previous life are ignoring a pretty important part of his character. Yes, he had lived for over 30 years, but what kind of life did he actually live? He was severely socially withdrawn, had no romantic experience, never had sex, and spent most of his previous life isolated from the world. He didn’t exactly have the emotional or social development of someone who had lived a healthy, fulfilled adult life. I’m not saying his behaviour is always excusable, but reducing his entire character to his previous life’s chronological age ignores the psychological damage and arrested development that define his story. If we’re going to judge Rudeus, shouldn’t we look at the person he actually was, rather than just the number of years he had been alive? #無職転生
