The impossible #FlatEarth challenge
The Southern celestial pole star is Sigma Octantis
At 7pm in Ushuaia the star is visible looking south
At the same time at 6am the star is visible in Perth also looking south
Both places are looking in completely opposite directions
How?
The stars being out whilst the sun still well above the ground
What a magical world some of us live in

This is brilliant
Yesterday, I was so impressed by Ben Cooper’s photograph capturing the different stages of the solar eclipse in a single image that I immediately started adding the same idea to my eclipse project.
Now it’s tested and ready. You can choose any point on Earth and any solar eclipse from the past 4,000 years or the next 1,000 and see how the Sun moved across the sky during the eclipse.
