Husband: “Can I ask you something without you getting angry?” Me: “That depends on what you’re about to ask.” Husband: “If I made a mistake with another woman, would you forgive me?” I looked at my husband, Darius, and laughed because I thought he was joking. Me: “What kind of mistake?” Darius: “I’m speaking hypothetically.” Me: “Then hypothetically, I would want to know why my husband was putting himself in a position where another woman could become a problem.” He didn’t laugh. We had been married for seven years, and I had never suspected him of cheating. He was a quiet man who rarely went out without telling me where he was going. He worked as a sales representative and sometimes travelled for business, but I had never questioned his movements. That conversation happened on a Wednesday evening. The following Friday, he came home unusually late. Me: “I thought you said you would be home by seven.” Darius: “The meeting took longer than expected.” Me: “Did you eat?”

EPISODE 5: A NEW BEGINNING The first few weeks away from Daniel were difficult. Chinasa missed the familiar sound of her family moving around their home. She missed the dreams they had once shared and the man Daniel used to be. Some nights, she questioned her decision. Was she giving up too soon? Could things have changed if she had been more patient? Whenever those thoughts came, she reminded herself why she had left. She needed peace. Her daughter needed a healthy environment. And a marriage could not survive on one person's sacrifices alone. Chinasa returned to work with renewed determination. She began saving money, spent more time with Amara, and reconnected with friends she had neglected during the difficult years. Slowly, her confidence returned. Meanwhile, Daniel remained in their old home. At first, he believed Chinasa would come back within days. He assumed that, as she had done before, she would eventually forgive him and return. But the weeks passed, and she did not come back. For the first time, Daniel had to live with the consequences of his choices. He began reflecting on the times Chinasa had cried while he dismissed her feelings. He remembered every promise he had broken and every opportunity he had been given to change. One afternoon, he contacted her and asked to meet. When they sat together, he did not bring flowers or make dramatic promises. Instead, he admitted that he had taken her love for granted. “I thought you would always forgive me,” he confessed. “I never considered that one day you might finally become tired.” Chinasa listened without interrupting. “I loved you, Daniel. A part of me may always care about you. But caring about someone does not mean accepting the same pain forever.” He asked whether they could rebuild their marriage. Chinasa told him she was not ready to make that decision. If reconciliation ever became possible, it would require genuine change, honesty, counselling, and time. She would not return simply because she felt lonely or because other people expected her to. Daniel nodded, finally understanding that he could not demand forgiveness. Months later, Chinasa and Amara were sitting outside their new home, watching the evening sunlight spread across the sky. Her daughter laughed as she told a funny story from school. Chinasa smiled. Her life was not perfect, and the future remained uncertain. But she was learning to live without fear. She had discovered that a woman's strength was not measured by how much pain she could endure, but by her courage to choose what was healthy for herself and her child. She looked at Amara and whispered, “We are going to be all right.” And for the first time in a long while, she truly believed it. Chinasa's story was a reminder that marriage requires honesty, commitment, respect, and effort from both partners. Forgiveness can open the door to healing, but lasting change must be demonstrated through actions. Sometimes, two people can rebuild what they have broken. At other times, choosing separate paths is the beginning of a healthier life. Either way, no one should have to disappear inside a marriage just to keep it alive. Written by Boss Abraham
EPISODE 4: The argument started over a simple question. Chinasa wanted to know why Daniel had disappeared for an entire evening without answering her calls. But instead of explaining himself, Daniel became angry. Daniel: Must I report every movement to you? Am I no longer allowed to have my own life? Chinasa: I'm not asking you to report every movement. I'm asking you to respect me enough to tell me the truth. Daniel: Here you go again! Everything I do becomes a problem for you. Chinasa: And everything you do becomes a secret! Daniel stood up angrily. Daniel: If you are no longer happy in this marriage, perhaps you should leave! For a moment, Chinasa said nothing. Those words were not new to her, but something about the way he said them that evening made her realise how deeply unhappy she had become. She looked at the man she once believed would protect her heart. Chinasa: Daniel, do you remember the promises we made on our wedding day? Daniel: Please, Chinasa. I'm tired of this conversation. Chinasa: That's the problem. You're tired of listening to me, but I'm tired of living with the pain you keep causing me. Daniel picked up his phone and walked away. For years, Chinasa had endured broken promises, sleepless nights and countless disappointments because she wanted to protect her family. But that evening, she made a decision. She walked into their bedroom, opened the wardrobe and brought out her wedding dress. She sat beside it, staring at the beautiful gown. She remembered how Daniel had smiled when he first saw her walking down the aisle. She remembered the happiness, the excitement and the promises. Then she began to cry. Daniel entered the room and found her holding the dress. Daniel: What are you doing? Chinasa: I'm trying to remember when we became strangers. Daniel: What exactly do you want from me? Chinasa: I wanted a husband who would choose his family without being forced. Someone who would understand my pain instead of making me feel guilty for expressing it. Daniel looked away. For the first time, Chinasa stopped begging him to understand. She contacted her family and arranged a safe place where she and little Amara could stay. The following morning, she gently explained to her daughter that they would be spending some time away from home. Amara: Mummy, are Daddy and I going to stop living together? Chinasa hugged her tightly. Chinasa: No matter what happens between your father and me, sweetheart, we both love you. None of this is your fault. A few hours later, Chinasa packed their belongings. When Daniel saw her carrying the bags, he suddenly became nervous. Daniel: Chinasa, where are you going? Chinasa: I need some time away. I need to think about myself and our daughter. Daniel: So you're really leaving me? Chinasa looked at him with tears in her eyes. Chinasa: I never wanted to leave you, Daniel. I only wanted you to give me a reason to stay. She picked up Amara's hand and walked towards the door. Daniel stood there, watching them leave. But just as Chinasa reached the gate, her phone began ringing. It was an unknown number. She answered. A woman's voice came through. Woman: Hello, Chinasa. Please, don't leave that house yet. There is something about your husband you still don't know. Chinasa stopped walking. Chinasa: Who is this? The woman took a deep breath. Woman: My name is Rebecca. I've been trying to reach you for weeks. Daniel doesn't know I'm calling you. Chinasa's heart began racing. Chinasa: What exactly do you want to tell me? The woman replied: "Before you make any final decision about your marriage, you need to know why Daniel has been disappearing every evening." Chinasa slowly turned towards the house. And for the first time, she wondered whether the problems in her marriage were far worse than she had imagined. TO BE CONTINUED... Written by Boss Abraham

LAGOS DOESN’T LOVE ANYBODY 🥀 Dami held his phone tightly. “Cynthia, you say wetin?” “I’m pregnant, Dami.” He looked at Daniel. Then at the wedding invitation. “Madam, you dey marry Femi on Saturday!” Cynthia started crying. “I know.” Dami rubbed his forehead. “See, I no even get money to maintain myself. Now you wan add pikin?” Daniel collected the phone. “Cynthia, where are you?” “At home in Lekki.” “Stay there. Don’t open your door.” The call ended. Dami turned angrily. “Why you cut my call?” Daniel sighed. “Because that pregnancy might be another trap.” By 11:20 p.m., Dami returned to Akoka. His room was exactly how he’d left it. Scattered clothes. Unwashed plates. No electricity. He sat on his mattress. For the first time in days, he felt completely exhausted. His phone vibrated. CYNTHIA: “I’m coming over tomorrow. We need to talk.” He replied: “Come with pregnancy test result. I no dey believe anybody again.” The next morning, Cynthia arrived. No makeup. No expensive handbag. Just a simple dress and swollen eyes. She handed him a hospital report. Dami read it. Positive pregnancy test. He slowly sat down. “Cynthia, even if you’re pregnant, how you sure say na me?” She looked away. “I don’t know.” Dami laughed bitterly. “At least you finally talk truth.” Cynthia started crying. “Femi can’t find out before the wedding.” Dami stood up. “Then postpone the wedding!” Before she could answer, someone knocked. Three times. Dami opened the door. Femi stood outside. Holding a brown envelope. “Good morning, Damilare.” Dami froze. Femi walked inside and dropped the envelope on the table. “₦10 million. Leave Lagos before Saturday.” Dami stared at him. “Why?” Femi smiled. “Because I know Cynthia is pregnant.” He paused. “And I know exactly who the father is.” TO BE CONTINUED… 🥀 In Lagos, sometimes the biggest problem isn’t getting a woman pregnant. It’s discovering who else knows about it.
LAGOS DOESN’T LOVE ANYBODY 🥀 6:18 p.m. Victoria Island, Lagos. Dami stared at Segun. “Which elder brother? I be only child!” His mother started crying. “Dami, his name was Daniel.” Silence. “He was five years older than you. We sent him to live with your uncle in Surulere.” Dami turned towards his father. “So una hide another human being from me?” Kunle laughed. “Your brother was too curious. He discovered where the ₦400 million went.” “And you killed him?” Dami shouted. Kunle said nothing. The officers moved towards him. Suddenly, Cynthia stood up. “Nobody is arresting anybody until I get my money!” Everyone turned. “Your money?” Dami asked. Cynthia smiled. “That ₦400 million belongs to my late father. Kunle stole it.” Dami shook his head. “Madam, na money bring all of una together?” Before anyone answered, Segun’s phone rang. He checked the screen. His face changed. “Guys, we have a problem.” He showed Dami a photograph. A young man standing outside a betting shop in Mushin. Dami recognised him. The same face from an old family picture. Daniel. His supposedly dead brother. Alive. Dami grabbed the phone. “Where is he?” Segun swallowed. “That’s the problem.” “What problem?” “He just withdrew ₦400 million from the account your mother has been protecting.” Dami looked towards his mother. She was already reaching for her phone. Then a message appeared on Dami’s screen. Unknown number. “Little brother, stop looking for me. I didn’t steal the money. I stole back what belongs to us.” A second message followed. “And don’t trust Segun. He knows why I disappeared.” TO BE CONTINUED… 🥀 In Lagos, sometimes the person everyone calls a thief is the only one who knows the truth.

My sister named her daughter after me. I spent the next six years making her regret it. Now she's dead, and I'm the only person who knows what really happened. My name is Vanessa. I'm 31, and I've never liked my younger sister, Camille. I know how horrible that sounds, but let me explain. Growing up, Camille was the golden child. She was prettier, sweeter, more approachable, and somehow managed to make everyone feel like loving her was their own idea. I was the difficult one. The ambitious one. The daughter who had to earn every compliment. When we were 24 and 27, Camille got pregnant. I was the first person she told. She cried, hugged me, and said if it was a girl, she wanted to name the baby Vanessa. After me. I should have been touched. Instead, I felt sick. Because Camille had spent her entire life taking things that belonged to me, and now she wanted to take my name too. I told her it was weird. She laughed. I told her I didn't want her daughter named after me. She called me dramatic. Three months later, she gave birth to a beautiful little girl. And named her Vanessa anyway. The entire family thought it was adorable. I thought it was the beginning of something terrible.

Imagine being charged for a guest who never existed and food you never ate. 😳 Would you pay $925 or demand answers? 👀
I BOOKED A HOTEL ROOM FOR 3 NIGHTS. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR A GUEST WHO NEVER EXISTED. 😳 Hotel Receptionist: Your total is $925. Me: Excuse me? I booked three nights at $150 per night. That’s $450. Receptionist: There are additional charges. An extra guest, restaurant orders, and late-night room service. Me: An extra guest? I travelled ALONE. And I haven't ordered room service once! Receptionist: That's what our system shows. Me: Interesting. Then let's find out who this mystery guest is. She called the duty manager. Manager: What's the problem? Me: Your hotel is charging me for someone who never stayed in my room and meals I never ordered. He opened the reservation and started reviewing the records. Then his expression changed. Manager: This is strange. Your original booking was for one person. Me: So who added the second guest? Manager: Someone modified your reservation using a staff account two nights ago. Me: And the restaurant bills? Manager: Those were added yesterday. I looked straight at him. So someone invented a guest, invented food orders, and expected me to pay $475 extra? The manager turned towards the receptionist. Suddenly, she couldn't make eye contact. Manager: We'll remove all the additional charges. Me: That's not enough. I want the booking history showing exactly who made those changes. He tried to offer me a corrected invoice, but I insisted on seeing the transaction history. Eventually, the extra charges were reversed, and I paid my original $450. The hotel later sent an apology and claimed the matter had been escalated internally. But here's what I couldn't stop thinking about: If I hadn't questioned that bill, I would have paid for a stranger who never existed and meals I never ate.
