Spotted this fun tidbit in a 2014 NCC consultation report on the Ottawa River shoreline vision.
Sometimes, we can have nice stuff?

ALT Ottawa River South Shore Riverfront Park Plan - Public Consultation Report 2014, p. 3. A detail from a map of the Ottawa River, with south at top. It shows the south span of the then-Prince of Wales Bridge, with the handwritten annotation: "BRIDGE HAS GREAT POTENTIAL AS A PATHWAY LINK – DON'T WAIT JUST DO IT."

Remember last year when the Conservatives had people hiding behind curtains in order to guarantee the Budget passed?

Chris Christie UNLOADS on Vivek Ramswamy losing the Ohio governor’s race...
“You not only have to question the judgement of a man who would take a woman — an elderly woman, out of the car she was living in out of the parking lot in a church in Pennsylvania with her cats and put her in front of a video camera, and make that a TV add in the gubernatorial race. We know what Vivek Ramswamy is, and voters have judged him as such. But here is the real problem going forward. J.D. Vance stood 100 percent with Vivek Ramaswamy. Not only as a person and a candidate, but he stood behind that advertisement. And Vivek Ramaswamy will be forgotten. He is going to be sent to the dustbin of history. But J.D. Vance is going to be remembered, I think, for this campaign, for more than anything else, David, that he stood by that ad, a man who wrote a book on Catholicism, stood behind that ad. It’s a disgrace.”
It's so nice to spend $140 a month on an OC Transpo pass that gives me the privilege of sitting on a filthy seat in an overcrowded bus next to open drinking and some guy tweaking the absolute fuck out on something a little stronger.

.@OC_TranspoHelps @PRESTOcard what’s the deal here. I’ve had nothing but problems with your card&paying at Blair and Parliament. I tap, get an orange screen then try tapping again and it says I’ve already paid. This means that either I wait and miss my train or follow people in

Yes, the elections in the worlds most powerful country are a newsworthy event. They effect everyone.

Conservatives running the province, botching healthcare and housing?

More evidence to why we should not elect conservatives, in this case as mayor or premier.

Ottawa has spent the last sixty years doing nothing to improve bus service on major downtown routes that took the place of the former streetcars.
And now Ottawa will spend another two decades doing nothing for the most transit-supportive parts of the city.

We just rebuilt the "moderate to high" transit demand part of Montreal Road so as to make bus transit worse,
ON PURPOSE, and now the only investment planned for Montreal Road is the lower-demand suburban portion east of St Laurent!?

We spent 1.6-billion on the "moderate to high" demand Trillium Line expansion, but we can't even get a fucking bus shelter anywhere on fucking urban Bank Street?

Councillors Plante, Leiper, King, Ménard, Troster, WHERE EVEN ARE YOU?
What the hell, guys?
Ready for Rail retweeted
What absolute bullshit is this?
There are two regular bud corridors marked in yellow as having projected "moderate to high demand": Bank and Rideau-Montreal.
Not only is there no plan for these corridors, THEY ARE NOT EVEN MENTIONED IN THE TEXT.
What is up with this trend of instant-experts in Canada constantly tossing out casual accusations of "corruption" about almost everything, without the slightest whiff of evidence?
North America and Canada in particular has a serious problem with their infrastructure projects. There is nowhere in a sane universe that building a known quantity like a hospital should cost 4 times the original estimate.
What causes a hospital to cost $10 billion? Yes there is inflation and certainly COVID played a role here, but I firmly believe that the cost is a mix of bureaucracy gone wild and a healthy dose of outright corruption.

I would love to know who introduced the water idea to the Bradford campaign, because I doubt it came from Brad. Somebody was planting a seed that they had an interest in taking root, and it was a significant own goal.
Why Chow confounded pollsters & campaign critics to handily beat Bradford, from @TorontoStar's mighty city hall bureau. “The water issue was too hot, it boiled over. He couldn’t handle it or figure out how to turn down the temp. We were relentless with it" thestar.com/news/gta/city-ha…
