Why California’s $33B Bullet Train Is Now a $231B Problem | WSJ youtu.be/zPiJKJuQ7i0?si=mEd-… via @YouTube / Embarrassing. @CAgovernor should be ashamed of this and just stop the program.
Let me explain reality… if you have but sixty seconds:
They were targeting Elon
They were targeting him with fake charges because the socialist-industrial complex is terrified that he would expose their long grift.
They came after him for the Model 3 and Elon’s claims around its potential.
That potential was realized, and it became, along with the Model Y, the best-selling electric vehicle ever created.
These were fake charges to try to stop somebody from building the best category-defining product.
Let that sink in: that's how evil these motherfuckers are.
The loooooong grift has been exposed: socialist grifters are stealing our tax dollars to fund fringe lunacy, NGOs and government programs without oversight or audits.
They’re parasites incapable of creating any product or service that has to compete in the open market.
Elon creates a couple of cutting-edge products each year, and half of them succeed.
Some of them actually change the world. Some of them fail brutally.
It's called capitalism. It's called creation.
This is what moves the human condition forward: trying things.
Trying really hard things.
Socialists come for the people building valuable products and services — that’s the tell
Keep your eye out for the people who've created nothing and risked nothing, but who are attacking the people who risk everything to create Something.
That's the tell.
I've watched this like 100 times and it's still crazy. $tsla

"I believe in our progressive values here in San Francisco. We look out for one another, we take care of our immigrant community, we take care of our LGBTQ+ community.
“But we got to a point where we said, well, it’s that person’s right to be on the street using drugs...”
I hope every former and currently progressive Democrat would hear this.
.@DanielLurie delivers a massive dose of common sense on @CNN:
“We got so entrapped in our progressive values...we weren’t taking stock of what was happening on our streets.
“We had 810 people die of overdose in SF 3 years ago. There’s nothing progressive about that.”

Can't invest in Anthropic at 2 trillion because it could be a 0 and I'm fucked, or it could be 20 trillion, but at 20 trillion we are all fucked.
Every Parent should do this for their kids. Just sayin.
Replying to @petergyang
You have the option to set your Shorts time limit to zero. You shouldn’t see Shorts on your YouTube homepage anymore if you set your time limit to zero. More info on how to set your limit here: goo.gle/47sGiFc

For all the heat that Elon gets on product delays, it's worth noting that he effectively shipped a product on time today. In August, he predicted Grok 4.7 would go live on 9/1, which in my view is essentially the same as 9/21.
This increases the odds that Grok 5, which will be a game changer (mark my words) comes out more or less on time. Elon said that would be late this year.
What's going to make Grok 5 special is it's “incorporating the entire corpus of SpaceX data. Basically, all the data that SpaceX has ever produced, which is a tremendous amount over the course of a quarter century.”
Translation: Grok 5 will be the most useful engineering tool in history.

It's now clear that alignment is critical and won't be solved behind the closed doors of a handful of frontier labs.
So today we're launching the Open Alignment Initiative, led by @Thom_Wolf @huggingface and asking to be part of the "embedded evaluators" program that @DarioAmodei just committed to.
Let's make AI safer by making it more transparent!
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.

Almost 10 years ago, @elonmusk put out the warning asking Governors for Regulation of AI. Talk about ahead of your time. #AI If you haven't re-watch the video on C-SPAN
July 15, 2017 at the National Governors Association summer meeting in Providence, Rhode Island. Musk told the governors AI is a fundamental risk to human civilization and called for proactive regulation before it is too late, as reactive rules would come too late. C-SPAN has the full video; AP, NPR and others covered it the same day.
