Gov. Kotek set a public goal of 36,000 new homes a year. In 2024, Oregon permitted 14,621 — less than 40% of that target. This clip asks the obvious question: if housing is the priority, why are we moving backward?

Another difficult result for Oregon Democrats: a repeal of the state’s gas tax increase from 40 to 46 cents is currently leading 82-18.
Conservative opponents placed the repeal on the ballot after Democrats, led by Governor Tina Kotek, approved the increase.

As the Senate plans to vote on Senate Bill 1599 today, don’t forget that the bill’s own chief sponsor called it political and said “I don’t think people wants to see this on a November ballot”
— ignoring the more than 4,000 Oregonians who testified against it and the more than 250,000 Oregonians who signed petitions that said November 3rd. #orpol
Senate President Rob Wagner admitted that moving the transportation tax referendum to the May ballot was a political move — and that voter turnout for a primary election is historically lower than the November general election.
Nearly 4,000 Oregonians submitted written testimony opposing SB 1599 — on top of the more than 250,000 Oregonians that signed petitions to put the measure on the November ballot.
Oregonians have until 1 p.m. TOMORROW to submit additional written testimony. You can also register to testify IN PERSON for a second time — at tomorrow's public hearing for SB 1599 at 1 p.m. in HR 50.
We look forward to hearing YOUR voices on why this ballot measure should stay on the November ballot, where it was already certified by the Secretary of State.

📢 The people spoke loud and clear: 99% of testimony on Senate Bill 1599 opposed moving the gas tax vote to May. Democrat politicians should listen to voters, not rig the system to avoid their scrutiny.

Tonight, a committee stacked with 5 Democrats and only 3 Republicans will decide whether to advance SB 1599 to move the referendum to May.
Don't forget: the bill’s own chief sponsor admitted it's political.
This is about Democrats protecting their power. Absolutely shameful.
