I've been working in retail/service for 23 years and today I finally got to tell a customer "the customer is always right" doesn't mean what they think it means.

Having to remind a grown man not to little at my work was not on my list today. He tried to leave an empty coffee cup on a desk and walk away hoping "the staff" would clear it up.
I made sure to give it back to him and tell him there is a bin outside.
Show some damn respect.
Perhaps all is not lost with this whole writing thing? One colleague has told everyone they read my book over the bank holiday and couldn't put it down and another in a complety different department across the country has asked to buy a copy.
