Most Brits don't have an 'A-level standard' of English, let's be honest.
These are insanely restrictive requirements, designed to appease the gutter right (which they won't) and which will lead to many unforeseen consequences for the British economy.
Under the Earned Settlement model set out before Parliament today, the right to live in the UK permanently will no longer be granted automatically after five years.
Instead, it will be earned.
Under the reforms:
➡️The standard route to settlement will double from five to 10 years
➡️ People who enter illegally, including by small boat, face a wait of up to 30 years to settle
➡️ Care workers who meet the visa requirements will retain a five-year route
➡️ Higher earners on more than £50,000, skilled public service workers and refugees arriving on safe and legal routes will be able to settle in five years
➡️ Migrants who claim benefits face a 20-year wait for settlement
➡️ Migrants with a criminal record will be prevented from settling in the UK
➡️ Migrants will be required to meet A-level standard English to settle in the UK

Not that I am surprised, but i still find it fascinating how well traveled and educated Nigerians grow up to become low minded bigots with zero self awareness. Ethnic, religious, economic, social and gender related bigotry on full display everyday. Really tragic.
