🇺🇦🇨🇦 **MY STORY. A UKRAINIAN WAR VETERAN TRYING TO SUPPORT HIS FAMILY.** My name is Mykhailo Rohoza. I am 50 years old, a Ukrainian war veteran, a father of three children, and a disabled man living in Canada. In 2015–2016, I served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade in artillery reconnaissance. I fought for my country, my family, and the freedom of Ukraine. On October 31, 2016, my life changed forever. A drunk driver hit me while I was crossing the road. I suffered more than 20 fractures and spent nearly five years bedridden. Today, I use a wheelchair, suffer from chronic pain, and cannot work. Our home in Ukraine was destroyed during the war. We eventually found refuge in Canada, hoping to rebuild our lives. But starting over with a disability and three children has been incredibly difficult. We live in Manitoba, where winters are long and brutally cold. We struggle to afford groceries, winter clothing and boots for our children, and heating bills that can reach enormous amounts. I spend my days writing on X, sharing news, expressing my opinions, and trying to build an audience. I hope to eventually earn enough through X to help support my family and become less dependent on donations. But I am not there yet. Sometimes I feel as though I am begging for charity rather than living the life I once imagined. Asking strangers for money is painful, especially for someone who once carried a weapon to defend his country. But I have three children who need food, warmth, and security. Their needs will always matter more than my pride. **I am not asking for a comfortable life or luxuries. I am asking for help surviving while I try to earn an income through my writing.** If you can spare a few dollars, it would mean a great deal to our family. If you cannot donate, following my account, sharing my posts, or helping me reach a larger audience would also make a difference. To everyone who has already supported us, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your generosity has helped us through some of our darkest days. I survived war. I survived a devastating accident. I am still fighting, but today my fight is to give my children a decent future. **GoFundMe:** gofund.me/2f2775bff **Buy Me a Coffee:** buymeacoffee.com/OlenaRohoza **PayPal / e-Transfer:** [email protected]

🇫🇮 CARL GUSTAF EMIL MANNERHEIM — THE MAN WHO HELPED FINLAND DEFEND ITS INDEPENDENCE This photograph was taken in Helsinki in 1937. The man walking across Senate Square was already one of Finland’s most important military figures. Yet the events that would make Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim famous far beyond his country’s borders were still ahead of him. He was celebrating his 70th birthday. Two years later, Europe would be plunged into war. And Mannerheim, already in his seventies, would once again be called upon to lead a nation fighting for its very existence. Born in 1867, Mannerheim had lived an extraordinary life long before World War II began. He spent decades serving in the Imperial Russian Army, traveled extensively through Central Asia and China, fought in the Russo-Japanese War, and later became one of the central military and political figures of independent Finland. In this 1937 photograph, he appears in ceremonial military uniform, surrounded by officers and soldiers during celebrations in Helsinki. His distinctive fur hat, decorations, ribbons, and immaculate uniform reflect the image that would become associated with Mannerheim throughout history: discipline, restraint, and authority. But history would soon demand far more from him than participation in ceremonial parades. When the Soviet Union invaded Finland in November 1939, launching the Winter War, Mannerheim became commander-in-chief of the Finnish Armed Forces. Finland was vastly outnumbered by its enemy. Yet its resistance astonished the world. On the Karelian Isthmus, Soviet troops encountered a defensive system that foreign journalists began calling the Mannerheim Line. The name became legendary, although the actual fortifications were considerably more modest than Soviet propaganda often portrayed them. Mannerheim remained commander-in-chief after the Winter War ended and subsequently led Finnish forces during the Continuation War of 1941–1944, when Finland fought against the Soviet Union while cooperating militarily with Nazi Germany. His wartime legacy remains complex and continues to be studied and debated by historians. Nevertheless, his role in preserving Finland’s independence made him one of the defining figures of Finnish history in the twentieth century. In 1942, on his 75th birthday, a special military rank was created specifically for him: Marshal of Finland — Suomen Marsalkka. No one else in Finnish history has ever received that title. Two years later came another extraordinary transformation. The military commander became president. In August 1944, at the age of 77, Mannerheim became Finland’s sixth president and helped guide the country through the extraordinarily difficult transition from war to peace, including the armistice with the Soviet Union. He remained president until March 1946. That is precisely what makes this photograph from 1937 so remarkable. Here stands Mannerheim before the Winter War. Before the fierce battles of 1939–1940. Before the Continuation War. Before receiving the title of Marshal of Finland. Before becoming president. He was already 70 years old, an age when most people begin thinking about retirement and the peaceful conclusion of their careers. Yet the most important and dramatic years of his life were still ahead of him. Today, Mannerheim remains one of the most famous, influential, and controversial figures in Finnish history. And this photograph captures him at an extraordinary moment: an aging soldier walking across Helsinki’s Senate Square, unaware that history would soon call upon him one more time. 🇫🇮

🇺🇸 “Trump Abandoned Ukraine and Sided With Putin”: Bill Clinton Accuses Trump of Betrayal On October 20, former U.S. President Bill Clinton accused Donald Trump of betraying Ukraine and the United States during a campaign rally in Florida. Speaking in support of Democratic gubernatorial candidate David Jolly, the 42nd president of the United States criticized Washington's increasingly hostile treatment of its own allies. “I'm tired of us treating our allies like dirt,” Clinton declared. According to Clinton, Trump did last week exactly what he had threatened to do during his first presidential campaign: effectively abandon Ukraine and once again align himself with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Clinton's sharp criticism came amid reports of a Washington-Moscow agreement involving Russian diesel fuel and delays in delivering Patriot missiles to Ukraine. His remarks came just two weeks before the U.S. midterm elections, scheduled for November 3, 2026.

THE SON-IN-LAW IS NO WITKOFF! This time, Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and key adviser, was absent from the American delegation. Officially, his absence was attributed to a seasonal illness. However, according to this account, the real reason behind the diplomatic maneuver was a September meeting at the Kremlin, where Kushner and Putin had a heated confrontation. When the Russian leader spoke about the imminent capture of Donbas, Kushner sharply objected: “With all due respect, you told us exactly the same thing a year ago. What are the chances that we will come back here in another year and you will tell us the same thing again? Maybe we shouldn't waste another year?” Moreover, raising his voice, Kushner reportedly delivered an extremely harsh rebuke: “You are simply stalling for time and feeding us illusions while your country is slowly sinking!” Behind Jared Kushner’s supposed “illness,” the account alleges, lies a serious split within Trump’s own team. Witkoff favors a “flexible approach” and concessions along the line of contact, while Kushner has taken a much tougher position, demanding immediate guarantees from Moscow regarding Donbas. This disagreement reportedly culminated in the September confrontation with Putin. To avoid jeopardizing the summit and the delivery of the so-called “Norwegian package,” Trump allegedly decided to temporarily remove his son-in-law from direct contact with the Russian leader, entrusting the face-to-face diplomatic negotiations to the more accommodating Witkoff.

We don’t have confirmation of this account. But if Jared said anything like this, well done. It’s right. The Russians use talks to delay additional U.S. pressure. There’s a pattern here. ‘Moreover, raising his voice, Kushner reportedly delivered an extremely harsh rebuke: “You are simply stalling for time and feeding us illusions while your country is slowly sinking!”’

🇦🇺 GREY NOMADS: THE RETIREES WHO TURNED AUSTRALIA INTO ONE GIANT ADVENTURE Australia has one of the world's highest life expectancies, with many people living well into their 80s. Retirement can leave another 20–30 years to enjoy life, explore the country, and discover new opportunities. And this is where an extraordinary Australian phenomenon begins: the Grey Nomads. Imagine retiring, renting out your house, buying a motorhome, and setting off on a journey around Australia. The entire continent is one country, with an extensive highway network connecting its coastal regions. Initially, these adventurous grandparents plan to travel for a year or two. But something wonderful happens: they fall in love with life on the road. One year becomes five, then ten, sometimes even fifteen. In the 1980s, this lifestyle was far less common. By the 2000s, it had become increasingly popular. Australia now has a thriving community of older travelers exploring the country in caravans and motorhomes. These people generally don't need much. Comfortable clothes, some equipment, perhaps solar panels for their vehicles. They live relatively simply, but their presence creates something remarkable. They buy fuel, groceries, and supplies in small towns. They attend local festivals, visit attractions, and support rural businesses. When dozens or hundreds arrive in one community, the economic benefits can be substantial. This creates an interesting chain reaction. Small towns begin finding ways to attract travelers. Festivals appear, local attractions develop, and roadside businesses become important gathering places. Every community discovers something worth celebrating. But perhaps the most fascinating part is what happens when these retirees decide to work. Retirement doesn't erase decades of professional experience. Imagine a retired mechanical engineer who once worked on sophisticated racing engines. After months of relaxing beside beautiful beaches and thermal springs, he begins to miss fixing things. His wife, formerly a talented hairdresser at a fashionable Sydney salon, starts missing her customers. One day, they stop in a remote Australian town to buy groceries. They meet friendly locals, start talking, and discover that the town mechanic has an old tractor sitting broken in his workshop. The engineer takes one look and immediately wants to repair it. Meanwhile, his wife offers to give a local woman a beautiful new hairstyle. The mechanic cannot afford an experienced specialist, but he offers a modest wage. The retired engineer isn't particularly interested in making money. He simply enjoys using his skills. Six months later, machinery throughout the surrounding countryside is running better, and local women are proudly showing off their hairstyles at community festivals. Eventually, the couple decides it's time to move on. They receive heartfelt thanks, climb back into their motorhome, and drive toward the sunset. Another six months of traveling, another beautiful town, another opportunity to contribute. Of course, this is an illustrative story, but it captures something important about Australia's Grey Nomad culture. These travelers bring much more than tourism revenue. They bring knowledge, practical skills, volunteer work, experience, and connections between communities. Some help with harvesting. Others look after farms, assist conservation projects, volunteer, or support local organizations. And when they become tired of traveling, they might rent a house somewhere for a year before the open road calls them again. Perhaps the greatest lesson is that retirement doesn't have to mean the end of an active, meaningful life. Sometimes it means finally having the freedom to live the life you've always dreamed about. And sometimes the most valuable thing you can bring to a small town isn't money. It's fifty years of experience and the willingness to share it. 🇦🇺❤️

⚡️ “We are closer than ever to ending the war in Ukraine,” — Donald Trump. The U.S. president made this statement during a massive Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv, claiming that a negotiated settlement to Putin’s war against Ukraine may now be closer than at any point before.

🔴 “Trump has decided to blame all the problems on me instead of Putin, telling his supporters that diesel prices in America are supposedly rising because of us,” — President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. “I believe it is wrong and unacceptable for Trump to blame me for Russia’s aggression and the crimes committed by Russia. He is changing the narrative, and that is unfair. I think this is simply an attempt to divert attention from Iran and what is happening in the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz is blocked. That is the root of the problem. But all the blame is being shifted onto us, and I, as the leader of our country, have become the target of these attacks.”

❗️ “I didn’t believe there would be a full-scale invasion,” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, recalling the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. According to Zelenskyy, Joe Biden was the first to offer to evacuate him from Ukraine. “I replied, ‘I need ammunition, not a ride,’” the Ukrainian president recalled. Zelenskyy said the then-U.S. president told him: “We are ready to help you evacuate. Kyiv is surrounded, and we are ready to help you and your family.” The Ukrainian president added that many European leaders subsequently offered to evacuate him as well. He refused every offer and chose to remain in Kyiv.

The duo of Witkoff and Kushner was created for one purpose: to create the illusion of negotiations and delay the imposition of sanctions against the aggressor. Neither Witkoff nor Kushner has the authority to conduct negotiations on behalf of the United States as a sovereign state. All of this is nothing but an empty performance...

“Why do some British people dislike Donald Trump?” Nate White, an eloquent and witty English writer, gave this magnificent answer: Trump lacks certain qualities that the British traditionally value. He has no nobility, no charm, no composure, no gravitas, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour, and no grace — qualities with which, strangely enough, his predecessor, Mr Obama, was abundantly blessed. Although Trump may be ridiculous, he has never said anything ironic, amusing, or even remotely funny — not once, ever. I do not mean this rhetorically. I mean it literally: never. To the British, a lack of humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it is a fact. He does not even seem to understand what a joke is. To him, a joke is a crude remark, an illiterate insult, an act of casual cruelty. Trump is like a troll: he never laughs or enjoys himself; he merely squeals with delight or derision. And the most frightening thing is that he does not merely utter crude and stupid insults: he actually means them. His mind is nothing more than a robotic algorithm of petty prejudices and instinctive malice. There is no irony in him, no complexity, no subtlety, no depth. Everything is superficial. What we see is a man without an inner world, without a soul. In Britain, we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are courageous underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither courageous nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite. He is not even merely a spoiled rich boy or a greedy fat cat. He is more like a giant white slug, a privileged Jabba the Hutt. And, worse still, he is a bully. When he finds himself among other bullies, he suddenly becomes a whining lackey. He punches down — something a gentleman should never, could never, and must never do — and every blow he delivers is below the belt. He particularly enjoys attacking the vulnerable or the voiceless, and he kicks them when they are down. That is why the fact that a substantial minority — perhaps a third — of Americans watch what he does, listen to what he says, and then think, “Yes, he seems like my kind of guy,” is a source of bewilderment and profound distress to the British. After all, it is impossible to read a single tweet of his or hear him utter a sentence or two without staring into the abyss. He turns shallowness into an art form. He is the Picasso of pettiness, the Shakespeare of shit. His flaws are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on to infinity. There have always been stupid people in the world, and villains have never been in short supply either. But rarely has stupidity been so evil, or evil so stupid. He makes Nixon seem trustworthy and George W. Bush seem intelligent. If Frankenstein had decided to create a monster composed entirely of human flaws, he would have created Trump, and the remorseful Dr Frankenstein would have cried out in despair, “My God, what have I created?” If an idiot were a television show, Trump would be the entire set.

🇺🇸 TRUMP WANTS A PULITZER PRIZE FOR HIS LITERARY ACHIEVEMENTS Yesterday, at a rally in South Carolina, US President Donald Trump reportedly complained that he had been overlooked not only for the Nobel Prize but also for the Pulitzer Prize. According to Trump, his writing clearly deserves one of America's most prestigious awards for journalism and literature. The irony is that Trump did not even write his most famous book, The Art of the Deal. It was written by Tony Schwartz, a respected American business journalist who later admitted that he deeply regretted taking the assignment. Schwartz explained that he had needed the money at the time and famously compared his work on Trump's image to "putting lipstick on a pig," an English expression meaning that no amount of cosmetic improvement can disguise something fundamentally unattractive. After Schwartz publicly criticized him, Trump threatened legal action and demanded that Schwartz return his share of the book's royalties. The situation was embarrassing, but the story itself has a remarkably familiar historical parallel. It brings to mind the memoirs of Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev, which were actually written by some of the Soviet Union's leading journalists, including Anatoly Agranovsky of Izvestia. Brezhnev received the Lenin Prize for Literature, while the actual writers were reportedly rewarded with state decorations and apartments. The enormous royalties generated by these memoirs, both in Soviet rubles and foreign currency, became another remarkable chapter in the story. Brezhnev's Little Land, for example, enjoyed considerable commercial success in West Germany. According to accounts of the period, much of the money eventually benefited Brezhnev's extravagant daughter, Galina, who spent it lavishly. But even Leonid Brezhnev, despite accepting a major literary prize for books written by other people, never went so far as to demand the Nobel Prize in Literature, as Winston Churchill had received in 1953. And now, decades later, Donald Trump apparently believes that his own literary achievements deserve a Pulitzer Prize. History certainly has a strange sense of humor.

🇺🇦 UKRAINE FRONTLINE ALERT — OCTOBER 22, 2026 🚨 NEW UKRAINIAN OPERATION REVEALED NEAR KUPIANSK — RECORD RUSSIAN LOSSES REPORTED 1. KUPIANSK FRONT — OPERATION VELES Published: October 22, 09:31 Kyiv time. Ukraine's 2nd National Guard Corps, Khartiia, has revealed details of a major underground counteroffensive operation near Kupiansk. Ukrainian forces reportedly traveled more than 15 kilometers through underground infrastructure behind Russian positions, coordinating their movement with surface assaults and drone strikes. According to Khartiia, the operation resulted in more than 30 Russian soldiers being captured and over 100 Russian casualties. Ukrainian commanders say it disrupted Russian plans to infiltrate the rear of Kupiansk. Important distinction: The 15 kilometers represents underground movement, not a confirmed 15-kilometer shift in the frontline. The reported operational results have not been independently verified. 2. UKRAINIAN GENERAL STAFF REPORTS RECORD RUSSIAN LOSSES Published: October 22, 09:04 Kyiv time. Ukraine's General Staff reports that Russian forces suffered 2,250 personnel losses on October 21, its highest daily figure since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022. The previous reported record was 2,200 personnel losses on December 19, 2024. These are Ukrainian military estimates and have not been independently verified. 3. ZAPORIZHZHIA — UKRAINE DISPUTES RUSSIAN TERRITORIAL CLAIMS Published: October 22, 10:25 Kyiv time. Ukraine's Southern Forces Command states that Ukrainian troops continue to control Vozdvyzhivka, Mala Tokmachka and Omelnyk. The command rejects Russian claims that these settlements have been captured. It also disputes Moscow's assertion that Russian troops are only five kilometers from Zaporizhzhia, placing them approximately 23 kilometers away. These are Ukrainian military statements; the precise positions have not been independently verified. FRONTLINE MAP STATUS No additional DeepState territorial update has been verified beyond the previously reported Russian advances near Rai-Oleksandrivka and Vilne. [DeepState — Interactive Frontline Map](deepstatemap.live/?utm_sourc…) ASSESSMENT: The most significant new development is the disclosure of Operation Veles near Kupiansk. Ukraine's reported record Russian personnel losses are also notable. Neither announcement establishes a new territorial change on the battlefield map.

🇨🇦 CANADA IS TURNING AWAY FROM STARLINK: $2.3 BILLION IN INVESTMENT IS BEING REDIRECTED ELSEWHERE — AND THIS IS ABOUT MUCH MORE THAN INTERNET ACCESS. IT IS A MAJOR WARNING SHOT TO ELON MUSK OVER UKRAINE. Prime Minister Mark Carney has reportedly cited Musk's sudden service reductions and restrictions on data access for Ukraine as the very reasons Canada must achieve full strategic autonomy. No ally wants to depend on a single unpredictable billionaire who could cut off critical military communications in the middle of a war. Canada is not simply protecting itself. The $2.3 billion agreement will reportedly expand Ottawa-based Telesat's Lightspeed satellite network into a military-grade communications system designed to provide secure connectivity for Arctic defense and NORAD operations. Telesat has reportedly confirmed plans to deploy this secure system directly in Ukraine and other allied countries, potentially providing a vital alternative to Starlink. Canada is effectively investing in the independent backup communications system Ukraine has desperately needed for years. 🇨🇦🇺🇦 Canada is sending a powerful message: national security and the defense of allies must never depend on the decisions of a single billionaire.

Russian missiles are flying toward Kyiv right now. One after another. Dozens of explosions in just a few minutes. But don't get confused. Putin is a humanitarian. And he desperately wants peace. That's what Trump's envoy said. War is peace. Aggression is self-defense. Occupation is liberation. The aggressor is the victim. White is black. Trump is an intellectual. And Witkoff is a genius.
