Cats kill ~2.4 billion birds annually in the U.S. Aside from habitat loss, this is the #1 human-caused reason for bird deaths. Save birds and keep cats healthy by keeping them indoors or creating an outdoor “catio.”#LiveBirdFriendly with more tips at nationalzoo.si.edu/livebirdf… #WMBD

Queen #Bees - HELP THEM OUT! Another important thread concerning #bumblebee queens at this time of year! Please #retweet/#share as every queen bee that survives gets to establish a nest that otherwise would not happen. This has knock on effects going forward. Let me explain. 1/11

I am so concerned about the use of plastic grass that if anyone on here is considering using it I will give you alternative advice ( free )as to how to landscape without it. If I can stop one square meter being layed it's worth the effort.

Every time you leave dog poop on the trail, you're denying trash cans essential nutrients to fatten up for winter. Heartbreaking.
At a trailhead, one trash can stands over another fallen trash can -- both photoshopped to appear severely underfed. Little X eyes appear above the fallen trash can's mouth. "If...only...they fed me their pistachio shells..." it gasps. "Shhh save your strength," the other says. "Greg is on the way with a granola bar wrapper."

Do not buy plants treated with Neonicotinoids. Bees take the pollen back to the hive and feed it to the brood. This is a number one cause of the colony collapse. Neonicotinoids are mostly banned in Europe
