ℹ️//TODAY//FIXTURE//NL1 @Official_SAFC v @YarmEaglescliff Comp: Northern League Division One Venue: J Denham Metals Stadium, DL4 1EZ Kick Off: 3pm 📈CURRENT FORM// Shildon 4th | DLWWWD - Followed their 2-0 weekend win away at Blyth Town with a 3-3 home draw with league leaders Easington Colliery. Jack Blackford scored in both games and his early strike plus a Joe Posthill brace put them three up in midweek before they were pegged back late on. They are unbeaten in five in league action - drawing three. At home in league action they have won 5/8 games, with two draws and a single defeat completing their current NL1 record at Dean Street. They have drawn their last two league games on home turf. Posthill’s first goal in midweek was the Railwaymen’ 50th league goal of the season. Only leaders Easington Colliery(56) have scored more. They are one of only two NL1 sides to have scored in every league game to date, Redcar Town are the other. They have been most potent in the 16-30 minute window with 14 (28%) of their league goals coming in that timeframe. Yarm & Eaglescliffe 3rd | DWWWWW - Extended their unbeaten league run to seven games as they followed a 1-0 home win against Thornaby at the weekend with a 2-1 home victory over Bishop Auckland in midweek. Joe Dalton scored in both games with the talismanic Tom Atkinson also on the midweek scoresheet - Atkinson now has 18 goals for the season with 12 in league action. They have won 6/8 league games on the road, with a draw and a single loss rounding out their current NL1 away record. They have won their last three games on their league travels. They have been most potent in the 76–90+ window with 12 goals (32.4%) - seven of those coming after the 90th minute mark. ⏪THIS SEASON// No previous league meeting this season. 🔙LAST SEASON// No corresponding league fixture between the sides last season. 🔮OUR PREDICTION// Shildon's five-match unbeaten run and record of scoring in every league game this season underline their strength, particularly at Dean Street. However, Yarm & Eaglescliffe arrive in equally impressive form, unbeaten in seven and having won their last three away league matches. With both sides carrying momentum and possessing proven match-winners, this looks one of the toughest fixtures to call this weekend. So even though a third home draw for Shildon is statistically unlikely we are happily sitting on a Desmond shaped fence. If we had to pick we’d probably say the host 3G surface tilts things in their favour, but we don’t have to so… Railwaymen 2-2 Eagles Comments, Likes & Reposts are very much appreciated.
