So let me get this straight… Trump jokes about Canada becoming the 51st state: NATIONAL EMERGENCY. ELBOWS UP. DEFEND OUR SOVEREIGNTY. The EU announces a MASSIVE carbon tariff we aren’t exempt from… a plan to align our courts, BANKING, Regulations, Parliament and governance: What a wonderful partnership! This is progress! 🥰 Are we serious right now? 🫣

Translating Mark Carney: "A dangerous and divided world": We spent decades weakening our own economies, undermining our cultural identities, and pursuing immigration policies without adequately addressing integration. Now we're shocked that our societies are fractured and people are angry. "A rupture": We hollowed out our manufacturing, drove industry overseas, made energy more expensive, and called it progress. Now the consequences have arrived, and we'd prefer to call it a global crisis rather than a policy failure. "The old world order": Back when Western countries could actually manufacture things, afford energy, defend themselves, and maintain a reasonable standard of living without being told everything needed to be completely reinvented. "The new world order": Our policies helped create the instability, but rather than admit we got it wrong, we're going to use that instability to justify even more centralized control, deeper international integration, and less national independence. Because apparently the solution to our failures is giving us even more power.

Remember when Trump wanted Canada more aligned on trade policy/tariff walls against adversaries, defending our SHARED border… and Canadians lost their minds over it and started boycotting America? Calling them a threat to our sovereignty? And then… when the EU President wanted canada more aligned on policy, parliament, governance, and courts, and tariff policy… Canadians cheered and talked about how much progress was being made? I remember…

Imagine believing that Carney pulled out of the tariff relief deal with America because it was a threat to our “sovereignty”… Only to then watch Carney smile, nod and clap along as Ursula Von der Leyen says Canada and the EU should merge (close alignment) our courts, policies, programs and governance…
