Ask your coding agent a question without opening a browser tab 🔎
omaSearch puts a search bar on Super + Q and sends what you type to your default agent.
Why it's useful:
▸ The answer appears right on top of your desktop
▸ The box below takes a follow-up
▸ Ctrl + Enter sends the same words to Google instead
What you need:
▸ A coding agent installed and signed in (Codex in the demo)
▸ The install command from its GitHub page
▸ One line in your keybindings file for the shortcut
Starry Hope's demo: "What is Hyprland, in one sentence?" goes to Codex and the answer arrives in a few seconds.
You get your agent one shortcut away.
Answers use your agent's account and limits. Plugins run with your access and no sandbox, so read the code first. Links are in the first reply.
What would you ask first?
The best Omarchy trick might be the one you stopped noticing.
A shortcut you use automatically.
An app that replaced three extra steps.
A small change that made your desktop easier to use.
Share one everyday win:
• What you used to do.
• What you do on Omarchy instead.
• The shortcut, app or setup that makes it work.
Mention if it needs a plugin or custom configuration, so someone else can actually try it.
What is one Omarchy workflow you would miss immediately on another computer?

how can you use tdk cli with Omarchy? @grok
We can fix everything. Even the very latest M chips!
Peek at any Omarchy workspace without switching to it 👀
Spaces shows each workspace's apps in your top bar, with a live preview on hover.
Why it's useful:
▸ See what's open before you switch
▸ Hover to watch a workspace update live
▸ Click to switch, like the built-in numbers
What to set up:
▸ Install it and pick where it sits in the bar
▸ Turn off the built-in workspace numbers so there's one row
▸ Set it to show every app, not just the current workspace
Starry Hope's demo: hovering workspace 3 shows Btop still updating inside the preview.
You get a top bar that tells you where everything is.
Plugins run with your access and no sandbox, so read the code before installing. The setup guide and credit are in the first reply.
How many workspaces do you actually use?

Webcam Too Dark on Calls. Fix It From the Top Bar 📷
You join a call. Your face is a dark shape. You turn on a lamp and tilt the screen. Still too dark. On Windows or a Mac you'd open the camera's settings. Omarchy doesn't come with a settings app for it.
Webcam Controls is a free add-on by @kristoferlund. It's community-made, not stock Omarchy. You get a camera icon in your top bar with a live preview and your camera's own settings.
▸ Exposure, color, focus and framing, if your camera offers them
▸ The preview changes as you drag a slider
▸ Double-click a value to reset it to the camera's default
▸ Pick between cameras if you have more than one. It remembers your pick.
Example (documented in his README): the panel builds its sliders from what your camera reports. So each camera gets its own set.
Try it:
1. Open a terminal. Type: omarchy plugin add
2. Paste his link from the reply. Say yes.
3. Click the camera icon in the bar. Drag a slider.
Check it worked: the preview gets brighter or darker as you drag.
Limit: you only see the controls your camera supports. Closing the panel frees the camera for your call.
What do you change first when your webcam looks wrong?
Before anything I remap my own keys cuz ur key ones are not my keybinds with all due respect 🤙❤️
Omarchy just got faster ways to change how it looks. ⌨️
These were merged after the 4.5 RC, so they arrive in the next build.
Why it's useful:
▸ Themes and backgrounds are one chord away, not two menus deep
▸ Network gets its own spot on the keyboard
▸ Appearance becomes a top-level menu, so look-and-feel lives in one place
What's coming:
▸ Super + Ctrl + T: open themes
▸ Super + Ctrl + W: open backgrounds
▸ Super + Ctrl + N: network (it moves here from Super + Ctrl + W)
▸ Super + Ctrl + Alt + C: keyboard screenshot
Heads-up: Nightlight loses Super + Ctrl + N. It stays in the toggle menu on Super + Ctrl + O.
Merged on GitHub, Oct 20. Not in a release yet: expect them in the next 4.5 build.
PR links are in the first reply.

One small annoyance. One useful Omarchy idea.
The window you keep rearranging.
The setting you keep changing back.
The task that still takes too many clicks.

Install (from @kristoferlund's README):
omarchy plugin add github.com/kristoferlund/oma… --enable
▸ Needs Omarchy 4, Qt Multimedia (qt6-multimedia) and v4l2-ctl (v4l-utils)
▸ Middle-click the icon to refresh cameras; double-click a value to reset it
▸ Move it left: omarchy bar move io.github.kristoferlund.webc… --section left
▸ No network access, no background service, no sudo (his security notes)
▸ Remove: omarchy plugin remove io.github.kristoferlund.webc…

Omarchy 4.5 RC is out, and 4.0.6 fixes stuck updates. 🧪
Here's everything that changed this week, in one place.
4.5 RC is the first feature release since 4.0. You can try it now with Update > Channel > RC, then Update > Omarchy.
Why it's worth a look:👇
▸ Multi-monitor setups finally behave: every monitor gets its own workspaces
▸ Notifications stop piling up: they stack by sender, with snooze and history
▸ Boot is quicker: the menu wait drops from about 6 seconds to 1
What's new in 4.5 RC:
▸ Workspaces: Super + 1–0 follows the monitor you're on
▸ Layouts: Super + L cycles tiling, scrolling and floating with a dock
▸ Console: Super + Grave drops in a terminal, a home for your terminal agent
▸ Languages: Omarchy in 50 of them, under Setup > Language
▸ Elsewhen: a world clock next to the clock, on Super + Ctrl + Alt + E
And on stable, 4.0.6:🚀
▸ Updates no longer stop at the OpenClaw migration
▸ The screen locks before suspend again
The demos in the video come from the official 4.5 RC release notes.
Start with:👇
"Update > Omarchy" for 4.0.6 on stable.
Switch the channel to RC only on a machine you can roll back.
Release notes and the OpenClaw fix command are in the first reply.
4.5 is a release candidate: expect rough edges, and snapshot first. Two 4.0.5 login issues are still open.
Which are you trying first: per-monitor workspaces, floating workspaces, or the new notifications?

If you installed OpenClaw yourself with npm, finish the 4.0.6 move with:
mv ~/.local/bin/openclaw ~/.local/bin/openclaw.mine && systemctl --user reset-failed openclaw-gateway.service && omarchy-install-openclaw-cli --now && systemctl --user start openclaw-gateway.service
Also new in 4.5 RC:
▸ Snapdragon X and NVIDIA N1x laptop support, and Omarchy Mac merged into Omarchy
▸ Video wallpapers and theme intros
▸ Faster theme switching, menus and logout
